Just like the great business we made by getting a profit on Long. Perhaps we'll spend it all on a new winger from the Italian second division.
My biggest problem if Ince were to go for £6 million and we were to use the money to help strength the squad, is how we spend it, we cant go on throwing good money after bad.
I think it does. Especially if we're now trying to keep him, suggests we're surprised that he did well for them.
£6 million is al lot of money, but he will probably help them go up. Bruce better have someone of the same or better quality lined up. Otherwise it will be another daft decision.
£6m on the face of it looks ok, but where do you find a player to help a promotional push for similar money? I think it'd be daft to sell, it was daft to include a sell on clause and I dread to think what sort of squad we'll be left with once the vultures have finished circling.
I don't think the fact that we were happy to get rid of him was entirely based on just his ability as a footballer, though the fact that we now seem to want to keep him suggests we're willing to overlook any other issues.
I'm not convinced. I think it's purely down to the fact relegation wasn't even seen as probable. Despite the fact we've looked and played like a relegation threatened team all season.
I reckon we'll sign Leon Britton to play as a lone striker. It's a perfect fit for Bruce. Tiny midget midfielder used out of position to catapult long ball after long ball and cross after cross to. The perfect signing.
I'd much rather have Tom Ince than not have him in the Championship. I wouldn't sell him to a promotion rival for sure. But what do I know? Hugely under-used here. Why did we even sign him? All that effort to get him here, we even failed first time. It seems more and more to me that there's no plan, just an intention to cobble together whatever we can at the last minute.
If we had stayed up, I would've taken the money straight away. We really shouldn't be letting a player of his quality go to a possible promotion rival. It is just a ridiculous notion. Though if we did do it, put the £6m towards getting Jordan Rhodes.
In all seriousness i genuinely think we should go for him. He's class. Probably too good at keeping possession to play for us though.
I dare say it`s only good business when we see if and who the money is spent on, on face value seems a decent profit, have to say would have preferred to see him in our strip as opposed to someone elses this season
