I really don't like this. We're permanently struggling for players like him. He's good for every other team, about as proven as you can get at this level. Forgive me for not being excited about making a profit, given how everyone was all giddy about making money on Long last year.
But it's almost certain he wouldnt sign an extension to his deal so would leave next summer for free. We cant afford to chuck away that much money even if we could reject the bid, which we apparently cant.
Tom thinks he can better himself at Derby. Let him go. I will wager that City are above Derby come the season end.
Brucey will probably replace him by luring Kevin Kilbane out of retirement. And all the bruce in brigade will be bumming him about what marvellous business he's done.
We aren't very good at playing the system we do so brucey while getting red in Portugal needs to have a rethink about the way we play, and use Ince as he can clearly be an asset in the championship.
Can't see a Bruce in brigade anywhere, would rather he had a chance until Christmas though instead of upsetting the applecart with another failed Phil Parkinson/Molby/Hateley type experiment
Why Christmas? What's a reasonable position for us to be in at that stage? For me it's top 10 and I'm happy. I cant see many more managers around who we can get who are better equipped to get us promoted out of this league
Depends on the squad and what we have come 1st September, top 10 minimum depending on how the table looks ie a few points off the playoffs and a chance of automatic. If there's 2 teams coasting the playoffs is to much of a lottery
I totally agree but you can read the comments here and elsewhere and see what the fans expect and unfortunately he has to be near the play-offs, I'd go with top ten myself
I think we've got a bloody good squad already. If, big if I know, we can keep it together then we should definitely be aiming high.
I think it'll take Elmohamady to leave before we abandon our current format, I think Brucey sees him as our key player. I wouldn't begrudge him a move to the Premier League, provided we get a good fee for him.
If we keep anything like our current squad and we aren't within touching distance of the top of the league it will be another failure from Bruce. It's one of the best squads to play in the Championship so the only reason we won't be is if they aren't performing yet again.
With the cash on offer next year anything short of promotion would be a disaster. I can't see the club expecting anything else and top ten is not enough. I think the behind the scenes target is certain promotion, not a hopeful push. Whether it happens or not is another thing!
Norwich had a better squad than us when they went down and were midtable at Xmas (I think) and still went up. I know they changed their manager, so that kind of negates it....
I didnt say top ten at the end of the season.... With the top 6 in the play offs you dont need to be top 4 at Xmas. Why are people obsessed with being up at the top all season? It's where you are on the last day of the season that counts. Look at Lester this season, how many days did they spend in the bottom 3 compared to us?
Newcastle now in for Ince... http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/Der...-Ince-wanted/story-26680438-detail/story.html Though if we have a fixed arrangement with Derby, it seems unlikely it will go anywhere.
