No, he got off to a poor start with us and was cast aside for that reason. He obviously has some talent, but was knocked off the ball far too easily, he made Aluko look like Andy Carroll. The fact that he's doing well on loan can only be good for us and him, either he comes back full of confidence and raring to have another go, or we flog him for a profit if Derby get promoted. We're not playing with wingers, so there's not currently any opportunity for him in his favoured position anyway.
For those who want to see his goals last night... http://www.goalsaim.com/rotherham-vs-derby-3-3-highlights-2015-championship/ Was that him at fault for Rotherham's third goal? Heading it back to the defender, but barely got any force behind the header? Another two decent goals, the kid is doing well, if he carries on we could easily sell him for £8m at least. If Ross McCormack is worth £10m, Ince is definitely worth at least £8m.
We had a winger who banged them in for fun in L1 but couldn't make the step up to the Championship, it could just be that he is a Champo bully but Premiership he can't do it, either way, he's still our player, and a good 6 months with Derby full pre season with us and next year he could do it different for us
The lad has had 8 premier league starts in his career, he's absolutely flying now and was never given a sniff for us. Say it's the level of opposition all you like, but Bruce has ****ed up. He bought him and then played him completely out of position without giving him a chance in his real position, I think the first couple of games of the season Ince looked alright, considering he was playing out of position (If you remember rightly he was up top in a 352). He might not want to play for our club again after his loan anyway after the way he's been treat, and I wouldn't blame him. I expect Derby to buy him off us for a couple of million and him prove to be a bargain, making us look daft.
It wasn't just Bruce who didn't rate him...Pulis hardly played him last season at Palace either, so that's two experienced managers who don't think he cuts the mustard at prem level. He just isn't as good as he thinks he is, and not what we need right now. On the evidence I've seen, the championship is about right for him.
It is good to point. But four of his 5 goals have been (in the championship) against strugglers Bolton and Rotherham. His goal @ Bournmouth was a better effort. But for sure this is what he needs. Games = confidence = goals = more confidence. Hull City will then benefit more from it all. Good to see Harry Maguire make a first start / clean sheet - last night for Wigan's 1-0 win @ Reading.
Pulis didn't play him because Ince woyldnt commit to making the loan permanent. He was in the starting XI up until that point.
I agree with other posters in that Ince wasn't given a consistent number of games in his preferred position and I do understand that many have suggested he has found his natural level in the Championship but last time I looked the goals in both divisions are the same size and the Ball is the same shape
Most of his performances for Palace were starts, but he only managed to stay on for 90 minutes in one game.

Personally, I think it is more of a positive than Ince, as I could easily see Maguire being a big asset next season.
For sure. Maguire was very good @ Arsenal in the fac and IF Davies does not pull in his bottom lip and shape up then i can see SB/MP cashing in on him IF the right offer comes in. IMO, atm, Curtis Davies is the worst performing defender we have. Shape up CD or ship out.
Ince looked like he had a bit of desire and was enjoying it. Playing against a team of South Yorkshire clodders. In the Premiership he looks off the pace, lightweight and not up for it. If he signs permanently for Derby and they get promoted, they'll soon drop him.
Guess who, driving round the M60 near the Trafford Centre this afternoon.............and he waved!!! please log in to view this image
