Id like to put an offer in for Carroll too , but have to agree with dai , after getting taken to the cleaners on the Siggy for Davies deal they may be a bit gun shy.Davies hasnt started a Premier League game . He's made the bench only 4 times and came on only one time off the bench for 20 minutes. Im sure Siggy has played more than that for us ...lol
I think they acquired Davies and Vorm specifically for a shadow squad to play primarily in Europe and the domestic cup competitions. However, after Rose's blunder on Stoke's first goal I see no reason why Davies couldn't break into the Prem starting line-up.
If thats the case , with Rose , then all Davies has to do is get past Dier , next in line I think Yankee.
I think he did TVR but I remember that was a stop gap. If its true and Leon is helping to train him then it could confirm that he is in the process of converting from CB to DM and not just to be used as a temporary measure necessitated by injury.
Amat started at CB against Man U in league last Dec till Canas got injured early to totally decimate our midfield .Chico came on and Amat moved to the midifeld I think.This started a 4 game streak of Amat playing in midfield.The next game Amat started against the Spurs from the midfield.Next game when we scored our 2nd goal against Fulham , Amat came off the bench replacing Shelvey snd played in midfield.I think all these appearences were with Britton in the team .And then Amat started in the midfield at DM against West Ham , with Britton on the bench ...sitting beside Rangel.The rest is history.
