Yep,Sehrou Guirassy,20 year old from Lille. Spent last season out on loan, after being one of the players of the tournament in the u 19's in Toulon. FC Koln had a 6 million Euro bid accepted but he failed the medical ! Arsenal and Fulham also bee tracking him,so I think this deal is dead in the water. However it's worth noting that Charlie failed a medical at Hull a week before we bought him, maybe history could repeat itself !
Oslo, you're the only one to get the point. With current strike force how can we logically finish higher than last seaso?
Maybe we'll concede fewer. Maybe the midfield will score more. Maybe we won't finish high than last season but the world still won't end.
Watford, if we take that stance then no point having this forum or even a football club. Of course the world won't end and nor will my 47 year support of the club but it would be nice to see the Fer and Phillips money/ wages spent on a striker. No one has suggested who/where the 20 a season man is. I wish, like you, I could have the '' it's only a game" attitude, but I can't,I am afraid.
I don't have that attitude but I'm realistic. We have little income apart from player sales compared to most clubs in our league. We've hugely over-spent in recent years so the cloth has to be cut and we still have some big earners on the books. If they like the look of a striker and he can be obtained for what they deem a reasonable sum then great. When you've got Dwight Gayle moving for £10m, that could be tricky and I'd rather buy no one than throw money at a Johnson/Zamora type just because they're available.
I agree in that sense but am sure Bradshaw or Gregory should be within budget and could be the difference between 13th and 6th. Otherwise, we all know what the season will bring but if that's because we are getting the soul back, then I'm happy to wait a bit longer.
We need a goal scorer. Mackie = waste of space. Polter = 10 goals tops Washington = Losing Phillips and Hoilet will cost us goals. It's not rocket science, is it? WE need a striker who can score 20+ goals.
Calm down everyone,we're looking at bringing a striker in,i'd rather we took our time and brought in the player that the manager thinks will do the business, than throw away cash on someone who won't just for the sake of appeasing everyone !
For the record, three players scored 20+ last season 1) Andre Gray - cost a fortune 2) McCormack - cost a fortune 3) Hernandez- no idea, probably cost a fortune These players don't grow on trees
I said last season I wanted to see us take a chance with Rory McAllister from Peterhead.Seen quite a bit of him and although he's playing in a pretty rubbish league,he's a top finisher. He's 6 ft 1,and deadly in the air,and a cool finisher on the deck.Shame our scouts haven't even bothered to watch him once, sums it up for me ! 2009-2011 Brechin City 63 games, 40 goals. 2011- Peterhead 163 games,104 goals.
They all cost their clubs £10m+ in transer fees alone. Money we obviosly won't spend. Newcastle spent that on Gayle and he's not guaranteed to score 20+. Either we have to be extremely lucky with a bargain buy or the goals need to be spread throughout the squad. I reckon the latter.
