showed great signs of class when he arrived on the scene,
but where has he gone? is GT keeping him up his sleeve for league one incase the vultures steal collins? is he injured? has he just been given some time out of the squad to improve? was he a false dawn?
so many questions, HELP!
 
We are I believe back up to seven subs this season so he will at least get to warm the bench and be an option to play if there are others in the queue in front of him to start.

There was an article in the ShropStar where GT said that he wasn't quite playing well enough and refered to how Taylor has upped his game to get into the squad. Bradshaws time will come and hopefully he will be at Shrewsbury and will get a brace in his first start!
 
if he is good enough for wales he must be worth a go at shrews. gt should try him like he did at birmingham where he scored the only goal. i suspect if collins and gornell leave and tb goes to cardiff or even swansea we may be a bit thin up front. our marv may be kept busy, unless he goes as well
 
A loan to a decent League Two side without huge cash reserves and in need of a striker (Accrington?) would be the way forward IMO, with Tom then replacing Morgan in the squad at the end of the season if he performs to a sufficient level.
 
I am sorry to say I do not think he is good enough. He cannot hold the ball and is not a fox in the box like say Carl Griffiths was. I predict he will not make the first team breakthrough as it looks as if we will be strengthening our striking options this summer and he will be allowed to leave the club.
 
Can't we be patient with a very young player? Did we expect a teenage striker to lead the line in a promotion season? Be realistic and give the lad a chance.
 
You do not get too many chances in football - Luke Rogers , Carl Grifiths and Dave Edwards were all regulars at an earlier age than Bradshaw - Collins is a similar age and did lead the line very well in a promotion season because he is a better player than Bradshaw. I suspect Bradshaw will not be at the club for the start of next season.

Collins is 21 and came from a Premier League club. Bradshaw is 19 and came from the Welsh League.

Huge difference on both counts. Expecting Bradshaw to be at a similar stage of development is unreasonable.

Collins has only established himself as a first choice selection in the second half of this season, yet Bradshaw should have done the same? Why? Because another player might have done that years ago?

What's the point of having a youth policy if we write off anyone who doesn't immediately become a first team regular? Might as well save the money and scrap it. And while we're at it we should get rid of Goldson too, just to be consistent - he's not a first team regular either. Young players eh, what's wrong with 'em?!?
 
A reminder. Jamie Tolley was a frequent Wales Under 21 international starting at aged 18. Whatever happened to him, apart from becoming too big for his boots and ending up you know where?
 
I can still remember the debates and anger a long time ago when Tolley made great effort to leave us and was replaced by Dave Edwards in CM...

Football has changed a lot in the last few years - players very rarely get contracts longer than two years and the best young players are picked off by top clubs even before they get to be first-tem regulars. We cannot afford to wait for years for even a young player to mature. The reason Goldson did not become a regular this season is that GT thought Sharps, SCS and Grandison were better players at that time. Youth academies are very expensive to set up and with the new compensation rules the returns from the very few players that do make it are diminishing. Far better for a shrewd judge like GT to identify players with potential such as Grandison that have been released from another club and then to sell them on if they improve and do well for us over a period of time.
The point about Bradshaw is that he has gone backwards in the last year and did not deserve a place in the team. I would be delighted if he proved me wrong but I suspect we will not see a lot more of him next season in a more demanding league.
 
i gather from reports elsewhere, he did not make too much of an impression last night, but had his moments at evesham. these are early days and he still has a chance to shine in the friendlies left and in the league. he has number 9 and therefore has something to play for. with 7 subs and no longer in jamie collins shadow, young twinkletoes has a chance to shine this season.

i for one hope he does. floreat salopia , young tom am byth!
 
im not to sure i agree with you on a few things, look at Crewe, who produce year after year and manage to sell on and keep some good un's in the process, their academy as been an inspiration for years, its easy to say GT is a shrewd manager (which he is), but it involves a lot of luck as well to keep picking up good players that no other clubs want, your right about Tolley though, far too big for his boots, he intrested Brighton, Millwall, Charlton, Brentford and Gillingham when he was at Wrexham, but where did he end up...Mansfield! ...but overhaul last nights performance was a good run out and nice to see Marv get on the end of Parrys pin point cross, but still too many wasted chances...
