There's been a few reports today that suggest that Adebayor's rift with the Togolese FA has been stepped up and he's suspended his international career.
This might force the hand of those that the players have a disagreement with and it could get sorted out, but as things stand, we won't lose him for the ACON. <ok>
 
How often is the ACON? Once every 2 years or every year? Either way it is too often. It should be once every 4 years like the World Cup or Euros. Having it too often cheapens the value of winning it imho. It is also annoying to lose players to it each time.

at that time of year, it could be huge. Winter is a time for niggling injuries which can be costly. we need another striker, Badly. we can't keep relying on Defoe.

Every 2 years but there's we'll be having it for the second year in a row with this coming one as they're changing it around so it's every odd year.

Hopefully Togo don't pay up then :)
 
too true roo!, surely avb will get a say this window and get someone in, in fairness ade hasn't done much this season (injuries and suspensions I know) would be nice to see other options but Defoe is on fire hope it lasts all season

I don't think AVB will get a lot of choice to be honest, it'll be down to what levy wants to do. - which is a shame.

we've just got to be careful. there's already been a lot of players who have played too many games without a rest, due to our injuries. At that time of year, it could get worse, so we need to make sure we've got some quality coming in to not only get us through the season, but to improve our finish.
 
Apparently this has been confirmed by his representative.
So he stays with Spurs this January.
Even a lot of you say he hasn't done much, he is still a valuable squad member and a forward.

we better not take out focus off of buying another striker just because of this.
