I've warmed a bit to Sheffield United because one their players said he thought they could win because they beat us and Southampton are a better team than Spurs.

 

Spuds win 1-0 in the first leg. If they want to get to the final they'll have to put out a decent team in the second leg which can only be good for us.

I want a Sheff United n Chelsea final

 

I want a Spurs vs Liverpool final just to give our opposition for a top 4 finish an extra game to focus on.

 

Haven't they paid us enough already?

 

Yeah, as I said in another post, I want Spurs to win this for three reasons -

1 - SU beat us
2 - Clough riled Ronald. To do that, you clearly need to be a special kind of arse (step forward Louis Van Gaal)
3 - I want Spurs to absolutely exhaust themselves at every given opportunity.

 

It just gave me significant pleasure to think that they'd have been better off spending £20m on Hooiveld than Lovren as things stand. (There's still time Brendan!)

 

Sound reasoning, from which I can find no fault. But I still have to go for Sheff Utd, even though your points are very persuasive, because:

1. The traditional point of losing to the eventual finalist [or perhaps even Cup winner].
2. I'm from the pre-Sky days of football support. If there are two neutral teams playing, I always go for the underdog, not the most well known or biggest club, or one with necessarily the best chance of winning.
3. Almost forgot this one. It will annoy the hell out of Pochypoo to lose the chance of winning something.
