Top of the morning to Barnsley, well done to them and may Milwall find themselves in the bowels of the lower tables.

Italy go 1-0 up - Matt Philips doing what he does best and failing to make a huge impression on the game, not getting enough of the ball to make any impact down the right wing, and just made a rather crude challenge whilst tracking back - won't be getting too many suitors on this performance, although the pace of the game is almost pedestrian....

So glad Millwall lost, my son is delighted too. He was genuinely scared last time they came to LR. Riot police and lots of agro - just don't need it. Well done Barnsley.

We'll
Probably draw them in both cups now that you've said that
Arghhhh! Never thought of that. Unlikely thankfully.
Heard a radio interview about 10 yrs ago when one of their supporters was being interviewed stating that they had lost that image, were a family friendly club etc. Nearly crashed the car in shocked disbelief. Really delighted they lost. No intelligent football fan.can do an thing but wish them ill fortune.

Here's hoping for an AFC Wimbledon win today. Would be an amazing story if they can win a place in Division 1 for next season.

QUOTE="QPR999, post: 9294832, member: 1006897"]Yes we'll have the same problem of disproportionate expectation if we win our first game. I wonder who it will be against? Now we have all the runners and riders we can do the annual 'First Game?' thread.

Do you want to do the honours?[/QUOTE]
Can I have Barnsley

Perhaps to burn off the excess energy of Millwall fans they could be encouraged to chase Danny Baker around the top tier of Wembley Stadium and throw sharpened coins at Rod Liddle. At least that keeps it in the family.

Actually I like Danny Baker when he is unscripted on the radio, but I couldn't think of any other celebrity fans, and at least he is actually from Millwall. They can throw sharpened javelins at Rod Liddle with my blessing.

Would be one of the greatest 'rises' in modern football history and well-deserved. Way back in the late 60s I used to be a regular at Wimbledon speedway which was in the old greyhound stadium soon to be redeveloped into their new ground, I often watched the Wimbledon FC of the 60s supported by one of my first girlfriends when they played in the old Southern League which was the equivalent of the National League way before their famous cup runs. The icing on the cake would be them passing MK Dons heading in the opposite direction...
