Of course I missed it at work - had to employ the "boss" button when someone came in my office! Who scored?
It was AJ, Zamora headed it back across goal and he dodded it over the line, they've admitted their mistake now. I've just realised one of the commentators is Ian Taylor so that explains a lot....
Ustream social comment - "Amazing distribution there from Murphy" - sarcastic I noticed that too, but just wondered if Murphy wasn't just giving possession back to them, since they gave possession to us after the QPR player (who?) got that bang on the head in their penalty area?
Would be nice if all our games could be streamed like this - I would even subscribe to QPR Player to get that service.
Thats exactly what I do to watch the NHL. I link up my tablet to the TV and its better than SD TV. Football is so behind with the times.
A win.......bit of a rarity but looked actually quite compact and compossed on the ball in the 20 or so minutes i watched.....looks like we have some promising youngsters as well.....
So, you're an NHL fan -are you a displaced Canuck? In the 1930's my Dad used to watch the Wembley Lions play in London (see attached). These days I get a bit bored by so many NHL games on TV, then all the playoffs - I did watch the Boston/Toronto series though - Toronto choked as usual. When I first emigrated to Canada in 1976, I lived in Vancouver for several years and used to get the free tickets to the Vancouver Canucks games at the Pacific Colesium. First game in the warm up a puck landed right beside me on the aisle seat and I still have it somewhere. Got to see Bobby Orr play. The Wembley Lions were an English ice hockey team. The team were founded in 1934 but showed a continuity with the London Lions team which had played at various venues since 1924. The Wembley team were based at the newly built Empire Pool which they shared with the Wembley Monarchs until 1950. The team entered the English National League, winning it in 1935-36 and 1936-37. After a break during World War II, they returned and again topped the league in 1951-52. In 1954, Lions joined the new British National League, which they won this championship in 1956/7. The League collapsed in 1960, and faced with the prospect of no regular league matches, the team folded. Inspired by the success of Brighton Tigers, who had continued to play without a league, Lions reformed in 1963 to play friendly matches and continued until 1968. One of their most notable players was James Robertson Justice, better known as an actor, who tended goal for a season.
Im a huge flyers fan, hence the name. In not a canuck, Im english born and bred. Glad to see you got to see a legend play, I only got to see the Ducks v Kings when they played at the o2.
I was surprised as a kid when my Dad mentioned that in addition to following the R's that he used to go to Wembley Lions ice hockey games in the 1930's (mostly Canadian players). Why the Flyers? You would like this film then - Broad Street Bullies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broad_Street_Bullies_(film) Broad Street Bullies is a 2010 documentary film produced and directed by veteran documentary filmmaker George Roy for HBO Sports. It chronicles the National Hockey League's (NHL) Philadelphia Flyers from their beginnings as an expansion team in 1967, to their back-to-back Stanley Cup championships (1974, 1975), and three straight Finals appearances (1974â76). The film includes clips and photos from the era, along with interviews with players, writers, broadcasters, and other individuals involved with the Flyers and/or NHL hockey during that period. It is narrated by Liev Schreiber.
When I first started watching, the Flyers were crap (like QPR) but beat everyone up. Plus Lindros was a beast. Rob Zombie has done a BSB film as well recently.
Never knew you were a metalhead, I might let you off for reading the fail! I always thought we should run out to Never gonna stop.
I didnt see the game but sounds like we were good. Like the look of the back 4 on paper. Did they play well? Judo, will be eagerly awaiting your report! Without starting mayhem. Where would you have put Adel in that team? Honestly? Would you have replaced Granero & had him play slightly in front of Derry? How were the oppo? any good? From memory they are quite a strong team in Europe. Will it be shown again on the offish?
