I hate trying to defend a goal lead. Why sit back? Going ahead means the opposition will come at you. So go for the kill not sit back and invite pressure.

Rovers will welcome Barnsley this Saturday to the Mem for their first home game of the 2023/24 season. Barnsley will come into the game in high spirits after beating Port Vale 7-0 in their season opener, putting them at the top of the table after game week one. Rovers were unable to seal an opening-day victory down at Fratton Park after conceding in the 92nd minute to end the game at 1-1. Last season's fixture at the Mem saw a goalless draw. Referee - Carl Brook. He was referee twice last season in a Rovers game. 1-1 away to Plymouth in the Cup and a 1-0 win vs Port Vale last December. Rovers are currently tipped at 21/10 for a win, with a draw at 12/5 and John Marquis at 3/1 to score at any time.
I hope there is serious improvement in performance otherwise we are going to be struggling for most of the season. We missed two good chances which would have sealed the 3 points for us
I thought the performance was good. We were the better team against the team who won last week 7-0. We created the better chances. Only issue was not taking our chances. This obviously hurt us yesterday but is not so bad as we are creating chances and getting into the right positions. I would be more worried if we lacked creativity and had no chances. We have played 2 tough games and we haven't lost and really we should be on 6 points now as minutes away from 3 points at Portsmouth and had enough chances to win the game yesterday. We'll be ok.
I think we look really good and should not fear anyone in this division. As CJS said, we’re creating loads of chances and are also limiting the opposition - only a matter of time before we hand out a thrashing.
