They didn’t have much choice really. 10 points away from the play-offs, they couldn’t risk it opening up any more. The only way was to hopefully get a ‘new manager bounce’ and get moving up the league. As we know, a decent run and you can soon move up the league - but the longer you go the harder it gets as this league is notorious for anyone can beat anyone on the day.
I imagine he would retire now having gone through this and after his stint with Newcastle.
He has probably earned more from payoffs than managing

Gotta say Pep can be utterly clueless sometimes. You have Milner at right back and you have Grealish and Mahrez sat on the bench for the entire game. The way he set City up was all wrong, braindead at times. Almost like a Champions league semi or final he got it totally wrong again, bottled it. Thought Liverpool deserved it on the day but jeez he helped them out.
