Too bad it was not us, Marti is meant to have all the European connections, but look what we ended up with. A "home grown" like André Gray would likely have never been on his radar.
At the risk of starting another Madsen (MADSEN) debate it’s quite clear the players brought in aren’t a result of his connections if he even has any. If we’d signed a load of guys from the Swedish league and they were this **** then perhaps.
I can imagine him a few weeks ago thinking’ hang on this squad is ****. And I haven’t got a clue how to manage them. Yet they are offering me a new contract! Pension enhanced!’
Quite the profession. Fail quickly and get paid anyway or if your employer is stupid enough a nice lump sum. Graham Potter is living the life of an unknown Royal courtesy of Todd Boehly. Good luck to him.
What pisses me off is that strikers proven at this level have come and gone but are still banging them in regularly whilst we sign carthorses or statics that just look way out of their depth. Frey has a striker's instinct but is a sick note and Celar is anonymous, we just never look like scoring. We should give an open top bus to any player reaching double figures...
True, I thought selling him for £2m was great buisiness, how we then spent that money has been shocking.
Commiserations Taff, that game with Leeds would have been a heartbreaker for the home fans. To equalize (3-3) in the 90th Mon, then lose 4-3 a min later (now that's something we would do!).. I really like that lad Gnonto, short, strong and tricky and often gets the job done. Wish we could have someone of his calibre in our stable!
