Absolutely gutted at this end, Torquay being our local club. They've been in the top two nearly all season and just lost out on automatic promotion in the last two games. They've been scoring a lot of late late goals to snatch wins/draws but this was stunning, only for the dreaded penalties. Suggestions are that one of the two disallowed goals TUFC scored was OK as well!!. A lot of talk down this way as to why they still only allow two teams into League 2, allowing teams at the foot of L2 to coast to the end of the season. Structure should allow for at least three, if not four, the same as L2 to L1, thoughts?
I rather like the new Formula One qualifying system. Friday's fastest lap gets pole position for today's 'sprint' qualifying over about one-third of the full race distance, which in turn decides the grid positions for tomorrow's actual race. Makes qualifying more interesting.
Be interesting to see how hard they race today. We’ll know that at the first corner I suppose. But a worthwhile innovation, two races for the fans to see.
The R's had a game tonight against Ebbsfleet Utd, primarily an U23 side plus a £13m rated full back and Niko......... R's lead 2-0 at HT but game abandoned due to biblical rain and R's have to defend the deep end in 2nd half...........
WBA say "we dropped 2 points!" Bournemouth say "we dropped 2 points!" 3 - 4 = 2 (I am a maths teacher, btw )
Sheffield United one of the favourites to go straight back up. This is a tough league, it just goes to show that today was possibly a good result. We would've lost that game a couple of years ago.
