Watching Manchester City demolish Burnley in FA Cup. 6 - 0 atm.
Just shows the gulf between the leagues.

Glad we ain't going up
Yes, we were riding high during the unbeaten run then Sunderland came along and it's unraveled since. The same players playing the same tactics but somehow not converting in the final third. We've missed Hernandez's full on play, taking on and beating opposing players. There's no way we're up to taking on the PL at the moment so it's time to work on the tactics and prepare for a promotion challenge next season.

I agree we're missing Hernandez. Even if his final product is often lacking, he plays with passion and might do something that gets the team and our supporters fired up. I also agree we're nowhere ready for the PL but I still think we have to do all we can to get there.

The gulf has never been wider imo

I’m not convinced - the gulf between us and the top of the Premier League was much worse the seasons before and when we were in League One and under Lambert’s Championship season, but he managed to create a team which was much greater than the sum of its parts and benefited from a Premier League in a bit of turmoil.

We are still a better club and squad than when we were under Neil in the Championship and Farke’s first season.

All of our recent promotion seasons we have been the weakest team in the Premier League due to a combination of relative poverty, badly timed injuries and misfortune (eg wiped out pre-season), and a lack of defensive solidity.

When you look at Forest, you can see it can be done - OK, money needs to be spent, but there are opportunities in the Premier League. We are never going to be able to compete with Arsenal and co, they are not the right measure, but the mid-table teams are not such a gulf above.

We do need a consistent philosophy and a bit of luck with injuries though.
