Suffolk, the lack of match sharpness applied equally to the Dutch, and to the Swiss and Portuguese the night before. I agree with you about the Spurs and Liverpool players; both Wijnaldum and Van Dijk started, ludicrous selection on Southgate's part. But the very fact that "being tired" was being talked about beforehand illustrates what's wrong in our mental approach; if you are always looking for reasons why you won't reach the top, you'll certainly never get there.
Wasn't this thread for fellow Promotion contenders games? I just found a loads of Champions League and England game chat on here. That's why I started the General Football thread. To talk about football going on that wasn't Norwich. Just noticed I've said basically the same thing as other posters, but on a different thread.
I see both threads as valid. One, 'General Football', does what it says on the tin - anything, at any time non specific to NCFC> The other is basically ongoing based on fixtures that day for easy finding for anyone wanting to comment on anything pertaining to that particular day's action. Or am I being thick and missing something.
Obviously, as a Portuguese resident, I'm delighted that Portugal won last night. Their players are all technically gifted, and their defence is very well organised. I was disappointed how far Dutch football seems to have fallen, though. They had a brief spell after Portugal scored when they looked a little threatening, but the last 15 minutes they just plonked high balls forward into the box. I'm old enough to remember the Dutch teams of the 70s and I never thought I would see the day when the Dutch resorted to Pulisball.
It was a decent game, but only four shots taken by the Dutch was ridiculous. Credit to Portugal's defense, however, for most of the game Netherlands didn't even look to take a shot. Controlling possession is fine if it leads to something.
Great atmosphere at the Stadion de Nice for France vs Norway in the womens' world cup. Well over 34,000 in the crowd...that would be why.
Love it!!! One man's poison ...... I wouldn't mind similar as our new 3rd kit and we never lost when wearing it last season!!
Reminds me of that brown, chevron strewn Arsenal away kit of the early 90's. please log in to view this image
