and Leeds have to face a very in-form Aston Villa Sheffield United have the better looking run in and could win all their remaining games (on paper)
It’s quite possible - Hull (a) looks their hardest task but they certainly could win their last three games.
They’d need a dramatic collapse from both Leeds and Blades though - I just don’t see it. However, it does make the play-offs very challenging to call. Even if Villa struggle in their final two games, no-one will want to face them, but all that being said, West Brom are now looking dangerous and that’s a real derby so difficult to call if they faced each other. Either way, which of those teams would want to face either Blades or Leeds? (Yes, I’m calling us out...) The latter can be unstoppable when it clicks yet the former I would say are more ruthless. As for the final team, I think it will be Bristol City or Middlesbrough. Even though they have a game in hand on Middlesbrough, I just can’t see Derby beating Bristol City at Ashton Gate and Derby’s final match against West Brom will be tough as the latter will want to go into the play-offs on at least a draw. Middlesbrough, by contrast have three pretty easy looking games and despite their wobble now look like they’ve got their mojo back. My guess is that if Bristol City take the final play-off spot, they will be viewed as the “weakest”, though they have already beaten Blades, Boro and West Brom this season. If it’s Boro though, that’s a really tough fixture especially in the semi-finals where Pulis has it in him to bore his way to the final. Really interesting play off challenge.
Yes, play-offs are going to be very tricky. Really tough for whoever finishes 3rd, as Villa are on an amazing run. IF they get to Wembley, will they bottle it again??
A conversation between a Leeds fan and a Blades fan: “After you, madam.” “No, no, sir, after you.” “I couldn’t possibly. Ladies first.” “Absolutely not, that’s sexist. After you.” “Seriously, you go first.” “Shan’t.”
Having led the way for so long this season, I'll actually feel a bit sorry for the Leeds fans if they don't go up now
Reading's draw at Ashton Gate and the Wigan result really puts our last two results into context. I must admit to being slightly concerned that we were having a bit of a splutter, but after today I really don't think that is the case.
I'd rather they get automatic promotion than the Blades, especially as you say they have spent so long on top.
I wish Ipswich could get something out of this game. If Leeds can still overtake Sheff Utd, they will concentrate only on winning their last two matches, not on beating the hell out of Ipswich. If Sheff Utd win, Leeds's only chance is to score eight against Ipswich, which I can see them possibly doing.
Well, that was an impressive opening 20 minutes - looked liked Blackburn were going to take a bad beating. Credit to them for getting back in to the game.
