I wonder if there's any value in a wider analysis of that trend.

So for visits to PNE: We lost, Boro drew, WBA won, with Bristol, Blades and Leeds yet to visit. Promotion contenders average 1.3 points at Deepdale.
Brentford: We drew, Bristol won, Boro won, Blades won, Leeds and WBA yet to visit. Promotion contenders average 2.5 points at Griffin Park.

I don't think the sample size is big enough to really conclude that Deepdale is a much harder place to go unfortunately.

Just saying I am glad they are in the "Done and Dusted" pile than the "Pending" folder. No game is easy in this division as we will find out at The New Den on Saturday.

Bah !

Just because we struggled doesn't mean all will. Lose to Millwall and should they shift to a tough oponent? Its a relative assessment. You look at the table and those teams near the top when played at their place on paper look the toughest, midtable teams away less tough, but are they more or less tough than vs the top teams on your own patch? possibly? But broadly speaking the table is the best barometer of how good a side is so I would say they are the tougher end of middling but not outrightedly tough.

Bah!

Really the nearer it gets to the end of the season the more we want to be playing mid table teams that have accepted that for this season at least they will neither get promoted nor relegated. So in March, I would see Swansea & Hull are in this position. Milwall & Rotherham will be passionate games, but they are in a relegation battle for a reason and we should have enough about us to beat them. Middlesbrough I would suggest is going to be our biggest test in that they are catchable by the teams chasing them for a play-off place, although by the time we play them that may well have changed. The teams we still have to play are in the position the're in for a reason, we are top of the table for a reason, we should fear no one and looking at our fixtures an automatic promotion place is for us to give away.

There are soooo many variables, it's going to be a fascinating end to the season.
I'm confident that we'll have automatic promotion guaranteed no later than Easter Monday!!!

I forgot Leeds were playing. To wake up and see that result this morning was fantastic! Was not expecting that!! Only a few days, and they have to entertain WBA.

After their loss to United, which I felt was a must win for them, they really need to beat Leeds if they want a late charge for Automatic. WBA are a lot better away from home as well. Could be a tough week for Leeds.

Either way, that game should knacker both teams out. Should be a real battle.

So, it's Leeds against WBA this evening and IMO, a game neither side can afford to lose if they want to maintain their chance of automatic promotion.
Should be interesting - especially as Roofe I'd injured.

I'm hoping that will lead to a draw. A loss for the Baggies would about end their hopes of a top two finish. Be a real test for both teams.

I had a thought earlier, I've had a lie down in a darkened room so I think I'm okay, best result tonight would be a 0-0 draw, if it comes down to goal difference in May we need a bigger goals scored than those two.

<cheers>

Typically, WBA look so sh*t tonight.

Really expected this to be a tense, tight battle and a draw, like I expected the Sheffield U vs WBA game.

Think Leeds are going to batter them tonight.

I'd prefer a Leeds' win, as it will worsen the WBA goal difference and keep them further away from the automatic places.
Leeds win. It's 2 from 3, rather than 2 from 4. :emoticon-0148-yes:
Leeds win, we still can't get any daylight as a top 2. We need us and one other to break away. :emoticon-0149-no:

Not sure what is best. Need a draw.

Walking back after the Bristol game, I said to my mates, out of the Sheff Vs WBA evening game, if one team had to win. Who would we take. We all said WBA.

As they lost that, If I had to chose a team if one had to win. I'd go WBA again....I think.

But as I said earlier. WBA haven't bothered to turn up and look total sh*te. And Leeds will batter them.

2-0 Leeds. Game over. This could be a statement thrashing tonight.
