England is worlds #1 right now? Well, Montenegro is not a world class but england make montenegro look like pub team.
Good performance although a couple of daft yellow cards at the end......good to see we no longer have to rely on one or two individuals as we have in the past....goals can come from anyone on the pitch....look a real threat going forward with great options..... I thought young Rice looked as if he's been playing that roll for years....very impressive....
Sorry mate, but that shows a total lack of understanding about the way this team plays. Agree Dele is a long way off his best and probably wouldn't get in when everyone is fit. However, Kane has evolved his game so that he often drops in to the 10 position, thus opening up space in behind for rapid players like Sterling to run into. He's also still our best finisher. I have to say it's really hard not to get carried away about this England squad. They really are looking so good.
Playing a lot of decent teams in the recent past in the World and Nations Cups has done this lot and Southgate load of good. All looking very rosy. Jolly D.
Big difference with this generation of youngsters coming through is that many of them are that rarity, World Cup winners. Southgate having coached many of them is so aware of just how talented they are, it's the perfect combo. Some of the over 25s must be thinking their time is nearly up...
Hopefully he'll take up the offer from Bayern. He's promised the number 10 shirt (from the retiring Robben) and will be a certain starter. Should do his development the world of good. Also think it's positive from an England perspective to have players getting different inputs than the Premier League. Certainly hasn't hurt Sancho.
Then he will go on a free 12 months later. They have 30+ players out on loan, there will be no shortage of players. Still not started a Premier League match. One of him and Hazard will leave, not both.
Also means that they comeback as more rounded people having lived and worked in another country, learnt a language or two, enjoyed a different lifestyle from those who are cosseted in Premier League Clubs Academies and never have a sniff of Senior side football.........what a brilliant opportunity it is for these lads, hope they grasp it with both hands.....
Stamp this **** out! Good to see it addressed in the Parliament, get this ball rolling and make a clear statement that can't be misunderstood.
Loving what’s brewing in England at the moment. Lots of unsung heroes in the much critisised FA for changing the way of thinking all the way down to grassroot level. To produce players like Sancho, CHO, Foden etc takes a whole new way of thinking. I’m deliberately not including Sterling in that list, because he’s a freak of nature coming through despite the system imo. He’s the real deal developing to never seen before levels under Guardiola. In the coming years he will compete with Mbappe for best player in the world, mark my words. And he seems a fantastic and bright human on top of everything, mature beyond his age. Must be the most feared side to come up against along with France right now. England can live without the creative force in midfield possessed by most continental sides because of their immensly pacy side.
The other big difference is that the last "golden generation" couldn't forget their club rivalries when they met up with England, choosing instead to act like ****ing 5 year olds and wasting all that talent. ****ers.
I like the way that Southgate, on hearing that Lingard played for Utd after having told England that he wasn’t fit, just gave it a ‘hmmm, that’s an interesting choice’ safe in the knowledge that he has plenty of others able, willing and just as good. No club before country bollocks permitted. Also like the way Southgate has handled the racism stuff.
