The Croations have been incredibly gobby ever since the World Cup semi-final and it's nice to beat them, relegate them and finish top of probably the hardest group and progress into the last four.

Agree that centre back’s comments have come back to bite him

Very excited about this England team

The crowd reaction to the winner had the passion of club football. Good to see.

It's great to see the public reconnect with the National team. Southgate is doing a brilliant job.

Great comeback from england. Harry Kane is a top striker and goalscorer indeed. 77 min invisible and then
made the equaliser for Lingaard and few minutes later bang, the winner in a true top goalscorer manner.
Mind you Finland too won their group. I like this nation league...

Kane had a poor game and then, as you say, pops up to get the winner like all top goal scorers do.

This Nations league has been a huge success.
Would a friendly against Croatia today have created such atmosphere and drama?

That was the most fun I've had watching England in a while. The streets of Paris were full of victory cries (well, my road at least), and my two kids were introduced to the lows and highs of England!

Serious question, as I didn't see the game today - would the Nations League have been such a success if we had lost today and were relegated to pool B? Or is it just a good competition because we done well? Admit, it's got to be better than pointless friendlies though.......

I think you've answered your own question mate.
Since the world cup we've played both Spain and Croatia home and away in competitve fixtures. Replace those with the multi-subtitution riddled, mind numbing friendlies we used to have and there's no doubt it is a good thing.
I'd have been very disappointed had England not won and or got relegated, but I would still have called the Nations league a huge success.
Wembley was absolutely rocking at the end of the game.

A great result for England today and an excellent atmosphere. What a contrast to the sad Rooney love-in.

I've not seen any of the games, just the highlights and goals, which are highlights of course. Agree, it has to be a good thing, one competitive tournament every 2 years isn't enough. We should have constant international football, just as we do club football. Might be the best way of uniting our bizarre green triangle. Gareth Southgate for PM.

Great result for England, to win that group from our position after 2 matches was amazing. The team are learning to win under pressure, great for a young side growing with every game.

Just watching Swiss v Belgium, Swiss needed to win by two clear goals and were 0-2 down early on but have come back to lead 4-2 on the hour. As has been said, this Nations League is producing some cracking games and the icing on the cake is the Germans have been relegated!...

I don't know how Kane was MoM, thought one of our midfield players deserved that honour. Delph would've been my pick

Agreed. Kane struggled most of the game, but scored the winner, which is also what these match sponsors tend to go for.
Delph was outstanding. A very intelligent footballer imo.

He made the first goal for Lingaard and score the winner. Usually that is enough for the MoM award even he had been poor rest of the match.

Holland come back from 2-0 down in Germany to draw and qualify for the semis next year along with Switzerland, Portugal and England. I like our chances.

    Ireland...

    0 shots on target
    1 shot off target
    0 corners

O’Neill might not have a lot to work with but they’ve been atrocious for a while now.
