England have historically not bothered to show-up in the third place play-off's and look like they didn't want to be there. I'm expecting the same today but you never know.
I dont think it's pointless at all. I would prefer to see a few different names in the starting 11 but it's good for these players to get together against decent opposition. It can only help the team as a whole.

Agree re Scholes not the others however The football we played then was very different and very wrong imo the current squad is a lot more like it but it’s still new to us internationally We aren’t suddenly going to be able to play modern football ... the very football I see played at grass roots in Catalan or France so I disagree with you plus this is just about football and the modern game nothing about lifestyle etc however I still believe it has a lot to do with culture ... we will never be able to match the French Germany Italian or Spanish players all the time we still think we are better than them I sincerely hope that the New England system is allowed to mature plus we are very good at set plays already so there is massive good things about our game if we can balance it all I see too much fear still in our play when you have 11 English players together when that goes we can then start thinking about improving imo We need arrogance and belief coupled with much better play on the ball and still our movement is dreadful at times
I hadn’t Bob I watch more games in Spain as the standard is amazing to see first hand Bob do not let your English head cloud your opinion I guarantee you that overall that the sides I watch at all different levels then we are still behind Currently my friends lad is playing a very good standard in the U.K. and his school reached the county and national cup finals earlier played at Stoke City ... good standard without doubt but believe me when the lad comes to my home then he cannot himself believe the quality of my local team ... good thing is as a playmaker he is beginning to express himself better The U.K. will get there no doubt but we have a long way to go ... our best players look great playing European football in fact brilliant but that’s because of the football brand we have adopted from abroad ... it is not an accident that the best coaches and players are still From outside the U.K.
Even today I see social media is asking to rate the players .. what a load of cobblers that is Culturally we are always looking to blame one of our players that is wrong and the players know this before they kick a ball so where is the freedom It will come Southgate doing a brilliant job best side of all time imo

The standard in the women's game has risen markedly over the last 2-3 years. 3 years ago I thought England would struggle to beat my lad's U18 development side. Not now!! They look very good.
Didn't see the England v Switzerland game until the penalty shoot out. By all accounts England were very good and completely outplayed the Swiss. Just our finishing let us down apparently, which happens. England have well and truly laid to rest the penalty shoot out curse and that's another positive going forward.
