Disappointed that Freeman isn't involved in the game, especially with both our forwards in the starting line-up. Thought we would have wanted to see them working together as much as possible to create opportunities.
yesterday I listened to an Ex Footballer talking on the radio about pre season friendlies and he basically said that although it was for fitness and systems they always wanted to be disciplined for the season not wanting to let in goals especially when the start of the season would be less than 2 weeks away. I wonder if 'Hollow' feels the same?
I have just watched the extended highlights on the offy and it is difficult to draw any serious conclusions as it is a pre-season match. On positives, we created chances which we should have put away, however this is reciprocated with negatives as they had even more such chances. On a more objective level, Smithies make some great 1 on 1 saves, but I believe he could have done better on both goal. Most concerning for me from the short piece of edited film was that many problems seem to stem form the the tight back position and were due to faults by Perch. Again, it was only a pre-season season match and I rather play well on the opening days of the season onward, rather than the pre-season, but there are clear weaknesses to improve .
Think that twatter remark is so unjust, just a gobby one liner looking for a reaction.....We're not f*cked and certainly the likes of Holloway, Hoos, Ferdinand, Sinton, Bircham all care........ Saw this posted on LFW the other day and I'm sure the poster won't mind it being recycled here.... Think back to 2-3 years ago to when Arry was mugging us off in our failed premier league campaign , we didn't have a right back, we had one decent striker and another with a dodgy hip , we loaned Zarate but didn't play him , we had Barton saying what he wanted and doing what he wanted , SWP just turning up for training , Rio was finished , mutch was bought but sold , all of away games were bonus matches , and the only answer Arry had was to sign Adebyour on 70k a week id say 90% of us on here said we want our Rangers back , we want youth players we want value for money transfers , or we want to buy to sell for a profit , we want a manager that cares , and we want QPR men doing that job well we have that now, this is a rebuilding job that could take another 5 years, I don't always agree with Les & Olly, Birch, Sinton and I get frustrated but we have to trust them , if we cannot trust these blokes then we may as well all pack up and support someone else we are in this mess mostly due to uncle tone so it should be him carrying the can not the management or DOF the problem we now face is that this league is turning into a premier league 2 we cannot compete financially with Derby , Boro, Sunderland, Wolves, Sheff Wed, leeds, Fulham, Villa , Reading , Birmingham even Bristol city can blow us out of the water with signing players im more happier that we are adopting the same model as Bilbao & Ajax its going to be a long season but if we stay up its progress , we may even go down , perhaps we may need that in the rebuilding process the club is taking , it wont be the end of the world if we do all I know is I would rather see us buy Freeman for 250k than waste a million on a karl henry , id rather see us play manning than see a Jenas or a Furlong in the team than an old clogger like Arron Hughes, a grego cox than wasting 60k a week on Zarate and id rather see the likes of Olly, Birch, Sinton, & Les over Arry , Bondy, mark hughes , mark bowen and joe fckin Jordan The above post is so bloody right IMO but all we do is moan about not signing anyone, about not being good enough to stay in the division. Who knows we may go down to the 3rd Division, but we'll still support them because I tell you what I'd rather support a 3rd Division side than be in the top flight of clubs that have sold their souls to Sky. Look at Man City, I used to admire them as a working class club, never world beaters , but had a decent football background, produced good players, been down in the lower divisions, but now have spent the equivalent of a 3rd World County's GDP on 4 falls backs, fecking ridiculous......stuff top flight football you can keep it......
A great post Tramore (yours and whoever it was on LFW). I'm getting heartily sick of all the moaning (not least on here) about the fact that we are finally behaving responsibly in terms of finances. Yes, it makes transfer windows a bit less exciting, but how good would it be to see one or two of the likes of Manning, Furlong, Hamalainen, Eze, Grego-Cox etc make it to the top? I'm looking forward to the new season as I always do. My expectations are low, so I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Anything other than relegation would be OK, and maybe win a cup game or two.
There has got to be something in between paying millions for well past there best, ageing PL players as we were a few years back, and where we are today, investing barely nothing when we nearly got relegated last season. That something is generally what Clubs do, at least the ones that are in with a chance of going up from this League. Getting into the PL which would solve our financial problems, has to be our target this season, whatever you think of spending there.
Thank you Tramore for posting all of that...I have been away this weekend from home and from the forum. I am glad I missed it all. Of course I want my team to win...every match, every time. However I would like to support a club which actually cares...and the players care for the club, the club cares for the fans....and then the fans reciprocate. I do have a feeling that the club (I mean by that the core fundamental team ...Ollie, Bircham, Sir Les, Hoos and to be honest Uncle Tone too) actually are trying to rebuild the club in the right way. Setting a firm foundation in which the club can thrive...as long as the feeling of progression continues...I can go along for the ride. Afterall I have been here over 50 years..there is nowhere else to go!
