Derby don't seem to be a great side this season, Pearson hasn't got them going yet.......maybe they have too many named players with egos in their squad......

 

But that's a proven recipe for success, isn't it?

 

So we were told in the past and weren't we successful with that..............................................not!

 

Amazing to think that in 1970-71 I watched my brother-in-law playing for Crawley Town against Burton Albion in the Southern League Premier Division. That season both teams were relegated to what was the 6th tier of the English game, the next season Brian Clough's Derby County were the league champions, Burton have certainly come a long way since then...

 

Wasn't it the following season that we knocked Derby out of the FA Cup at HQ played on a mud heap and Dave Mackay kicked Rodney into row z as often as he could? Happily he also scored an own goal that day as well.....

Nice symmetry with Clough Jnr in charge at Burton........they are doing well.

 

Well-deserved win for Burton, they wanted it more. Pearson will be throwing the cups around...

 

Fair play to them........record crowd at the stadium as well.....

 

That must have been one of Rodney's last games for us before he cost City the title that season...

 

Bayern had a mare in the Bundesliga, only won their opening match 6-0, it must be getting competitive...

 

Clint Hill puts in another 90 mins for Rangers in a 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock, where Joey Barton got clattered for a red card.
