That result will do us nicely - Owls scored with their only shot on target. Hopefully tomorrow Washington can make it three on the trot.

Going to Shrewsbury v Bury today with Bury fan mates. Arguably the biggest game of the day if you look at the table.

The saddest part is it's not even a new ground for me and I don't recall us ever playing there in my lifetime.

Chelsea are comfortably beating Arsenal 2-0 with 10 minutes to go.

Here's a picture of the typical kind of supporter that frequents the 'Bridge' nowadays.

None at all, I don't hold out too much hope. Apparently it was nicked the first week we were away, so I imagine it's been 'disposed of' by now, the thieves get a couple of hundred and the breaker sells the decent parts on. Police said there's been a spate of thefts in the past few months...

HT - Forest 1 Villa 1 - with a point Forest go above us on GD.

At least Ross McCormack not in the Forest team - presumably a condition of his loan move from Villa, or perhaps unfit to play? I guess SWP might have had a valid excuse with that gate!

ROSS MCCORMACK has admitted he will never apologise to Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce over the gate incident.

Ross McCormack: I will never apologise to Steve Bruce over gate incident

The 30-year-old was exiled at Aston Villa after Bruce grew tired of his excuses for missing training.

One of the reasons he missed a session was because his electric gates at his house were stuck and he could not get out.

But Bruce blasted the Scotland international and refused to pick him again until he apologised for his actions.

Steve Bruce refused to play McCormack until he apologised for skipping training

McCormack was subsequently shipped out on loan to Nottingham Forest on deadline day by Villa after just seven months into a £12million move from Fulham.

And McCormack insists he will not apologise to Bruce because his excuses were valid and that the club never said sorry to him for talking publicly about his private life.

“We’ve had a disagreement but apologising?," McCormack said.

McCormack has joined Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season
“Nobody at the club has apologised to me for talking about my private life. What can I say? ‘Sorry for not jumping over the fence’?

“I don’t think I should apologise for that day. The story is true — but not because I wanted a day off training. One day I was late. One day I missed sick.”

McCormack was also left fuming at Villa owner Dr Tony Xia over comments he made on Twitter regarding his personal life - and rubbished Bruce's claims that he should have climbed the fence as it was only 4ft 6in high.

McCormack said: “I’m big enough to know it sounds ludicrous — ‘I can’t get to training because my electric gate is broken’.

“And let’s put another thing to bed when it comes to talk the fence is only 4ft 6in. It’s as tall as I am, probably taller. I could’ve climbed it but made the decision not to.

“I know what would’ve happened had I jumped over the fence and turned my ankle.

"But I’m surprised at the other stuff that followed — ‘he’s not professional,’ ‘he’s a bad egg’, ‘doesn’t work with his team-mates,’ ‘he causes trouble’.

"It’s nonsense. I didn’t meet the manager. He pulled up outside my house and he was there for three or four seconds."McCormack scored three goals in 23 appearances for Villa this season and is contracted to the club until the summer of 2020.

Maybe McCormack has more problems with the gates and is locked in and cannot climb a 4 foot gate?

I guess it's the loan rules:-

One man who won't be playing a part tonight owing to EFL loan rules is Ross McCormack, who joined Nottingham Forest from Aston Villa until the end of the season on transfer deadline day.

And, of course, that gives us the perfect excuse to once again bring up the now infamous 'gate-gate' incident.

If you've been buried under a rock for the past fortnight, Villa disciplined the Scottish striker more than once for failing to attend training, with one excuse that a faulty gate prevented him leaving his house.

But the 30-year-old said this week: "The fence was taller than me and I'm not 4ft 6in. It was icy and raining, what if I'd rolled my ankle?

"It sounds far fetched but the gate was stuck... I had to wait for the company,"

Hmmm... I'll leave you all to make your own minds up.

A SURPRISINGLY strong baby caused a stir online after a clip of him clambering over two stair gates was shared online. The cheeky little chappy manage to climb over the devices designed to keep him inside his bedroom.

The cheeky little chappy managed to scale the gates designed to keep him in his bedroom

The enterprising infant was able to scale the gates, which were more than twice his height, just ten minutes after his mum had erected the barrier.

21-month-old Leo Westlake from Falmouth was filmed by his mum, Alice Grey, completing the impressive feat.

The tot had managed to clamber over one gate before so 23-year-old Alice added another gate to try and keep her intrepid son at bay.

The intrepid tot made short work of the barrier climbing it just ten minutes after his mother built it

She told Cornwall Live: “He’s been doing that since he could walk at nine months.

“He’s been quite full on and a bit of a handful. We don’t have a minute’s peace until he goes to bed.

“That double stair gate hadn’t even been up 10 minutes, I thought he would be too scared.

Hopefully Villa can see this match out 1-1 after a silly red card.

    RED CARD: Jack Grealish

Oh Jack Grealish, what have you done here?

The Aston Villa midfielder will take no further part this evening, given a second yellow card for a trip on Eric Lichaj.

It must be said, though, that it was the first booking that's cost him - shown for pointlessly kicking the ball away during the first half.

Screw it, Forest win 2-1 at the death to move up the table above us to join 5 teams on 36 points - if we could get around to winning games again we could move up too.

We should have left the chicken chokers stranded on 25 points today - a big miss for us (and the Burton match).

Huddersfield get warmed up for us beating Leeds with some managerial fisticuffs.

Brentford 2-0 up over Brighton after just 22 mins.

    Huddersfield 2 Leeds 1

Michael Hefele scored a dramatic late winner to help Huddersfield leapfrog West Yorkshire rivals Leeds.

The German defender prodded home in the 89th minute after Aaron Mooy's shot deflected into his path.

In the aftermath of the winner both managers were sent to the stand after both benches got involved in an altercation.

Sub Izzy Brown had put the hosts in front from Tommy Smith's cross, before Chris Wood showed composure to level.

Garry Monk and David Wagner clashed after the German had joined his team's celebrations following their late winner

The win lifts the Terriers up to fourth, one point and one place above their promotion rivals with a game in hand.

In truth Town deserved their victory, though the game had looked destined to end level before Hefele's late intervention.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner sprinted down the pitch to join his team's celebrations and, after he bumped into Leeds counterpart Garry Monk on his way back to his technical area, both teams were involved in a mass confrontation that culminated in both managers being sent off and three players being booked.

The two teams could yet meet again in the play-offs this season.

Brighton did well to pull it back from 0-2, Huddersfield beat the Massive and it's getting tight at the top of the Championship. City relying on Jesus for miracles and ManUre walking it at Leicester who are looking likely relegation candidates...
