Our clocks on this side of the pond don't Fall back until this weekend, so right now I'm relaxing after work before a steak supper watching our West London neighbours, Brentford & Fulham in action on this stream, if any overseas folks are interested:-

    http://www.vipbox.nu/football/430297/1/brentford-fc-vs-fulham-fc-live-stream-online.html

Based on their respective recent form playing us you would expect a home win for the Bees, but here in the Championship we all know that on any given day, anything can happen (hopefully the case for us tomorrow at Forest to break that win curse)..

35 mins into match, Fulham are 1-0 up and have been playing the better football.

It's the FA Cup 1st round starting tonight and a very useful Eastleigh from the National League take on our 'feeder' club Swindon Town. Elsewhere Millwall take on Southend, I'm hoping Millwall make it to the 3rd round and get West Ham at the Olympic Stadium, they can then do a proper refit after it's demolished...

Perhaps a weekend for record breaking - 18 years since Fulham last won at Brentford, probably because they were in different divisions for most of that time.

So we're the West London wooden spoon now, although if we beat Forest tomorrow we could draw level on points with Brentford, with them ahead on GD of course (10 goal difference right now).

Millwall get a late winner against Southend so the dream game against West Ham is still on......

Eastleigh get a replay with Swindon........

Why are you here then? After work on a Friday evening I quite enjoyed watching the Brentford v Fulham match (took a long breather to cook a steak, onions & mushrooms supper for family) and followed the scores in the other FA Cup matches, noting our player Michael Doughty was brought down and scored a penalty for Swindon.

Now saying that, really not a great deal of interest on my part in the Partick Thistle v Aberdeen 1-2 scoreline, but if someone on our board from up there were to mention it (e.g. Steelmonkey) I really wouldn't be too bothered.

I was talking about wooden spoons, or what you are cooking for your family.

Anyway I'm only dipping in here every now and again because although it's 10:15pm I'm still doing some work, although listening to some wonderful music on RTE Lyric FM.......soothes the soul.

Almost as many people at Eastleigh (3300) as Millwall (4500).

As a young teenager living in Winchester, Hampshire us lads used to take short train ride down to Eastleigh to go ice skating and try to pick up girls - I skate much better now after a competitive figure skater took me under her wing and taught how to do skate cross overs to negotiate the rink corners easily, skating as a pair - fun times.

I also recall as a 16 year old once returning from an R's game, and falling asleep on the train (too much beer & BR pork pie) and missing my stop, waking up in Eastleigh, and having to take another train back from the opposite platform.

Tramore, I somehow have it in my head, perhaps from a previous post here, that like my retired older brother down-under, this is your chosen profession? He often suggested that I seek the same career........

Too much beer as a 16 year old lol.

I worked in Winchester for 6 months. I was seconded onto a project in IBM Hursley. I used to get the train down Monday morning from Waterloo and come back Friday evening. They put us into rented houses in West Wellow which is the far side of Romsey on the edge of the New Forest. I actually did my driving test in Winchester when I was based there would you believe. We are talking 20+ years ago now.
