Hope left me after the cup final and the games just after. A team that can't up it's game against fellow strugglers and only seem to play against the big guns or when the game is already lost is only going one way, DOWN!

    We're gone I reckon.

I bet we beat Everton then lose to West Brom. That would so typical

Winning our last three home games could still be enough, but that isn't likely

Like I say I still have hope but I just don't get it!!

Can slagg the formation off but I think it worked well last wk so why change it??

O'shea is probably the worst defender at the club and he marks arguably the best header of the ball in the league???? Please!! O'shea shouldn't be anywhere near the first team never mind the captain...

Have to disagree with the last point, Vergini is our worst cb for me

when you factor Vergini's other performances though, for me it's clear he's worse

We may have to bring Danny back for christs sake after that pathetic ****. Get Watmore and Ba in for the Spurs game they will be ready for the championship and be up for it, and we should get straight back up.

How many chances has vergini had tho??

O'shea is the worst defender almost every game!!

At least vergini can control a ball and wants it..

    Fulham and Cardiff are doomed.

Then its one from Sunderland ..Norwich ...WBA

    IMO

So yes you still have a decent chance of staying up and are NOT doomed yet.

It's hard to be optimistic. Yes it seems we do have a decent chance of staying up, and maybe that will happen with lessened pressure, but in my eyes we are just sleepwalking to the championship.

I'd be surprised if any of the current bottom three survive

Agree with smithy on all points regarding oshea. Pay his contract up this morning and tell him to go away in jerky movements. He is a one man disaster zone.

I thought Bridcutt had his best game for us last night, he looked very tidy and will do well for us in the Championship.

    Why did Johnson not start?

That's the 2nd game in a row now, where he's come on and changed your team and added a threat. I understand that trying to attack Liverpool could backfire big time but there's no reason to leave him out of this game, you simply have to play your best 11 and he's been your best player this season, especially in attack. That's Gus Poyet's fault that you lost that game last night in my opinion, he has to take the blame for that one.

If you can play like you did after Johnson came on you'll pick up enough points to survive, starting with Spurs this weekend who are in complete disarray.

The only reason I can come up with for NOT playing AJ from the start is to avoid injuring him and getting a decent price in the summer.

I'd take a fiver for Altidore and Wickham combined. Another fiver and I'll throw in O'Shea and Vergini.
Jozy isn't made for this league , and our last four managers didn't play Wickham for a very good reason :- He isn't good enough

Fully agree with the O'shea remark but last night I thought we were beaten by a team with a plan and it worked with a bit of help from "Howard". The team has lost its way, but I think this was probably our best starting line up considering who is available and current form. The boys from South America are looking just that at the moment, and were probably not the players required in the January window, but both show promise, unfortunately that is not enough in our position we need match winning performances but we are not getting them from anybody with consistency.
and time is not on our side.
