Excellent, really happy for you mate. Been there myself and have little or no sympathy for the blood father. Similar to my case mate and my little girl, now 28 dotes on me and vice a versa. She started calling me daddy at 3 and now i'm big bear lol. Its this kind of thing that makes other people as well as your good self very happy

You're not going out with my wife's ex-boyfriend's ex girlfriend are you!! I officially adopted my son 2 years ago - very similar situation as he's 11 next weekend and I've been around since he was 2 - the only way we got his biological sperm donor (he doesn;t deserve the term father) to allow it was saying the same! Luckily he's too thick to realise that, as he has 2 kids to women who he is no longer with, all of the money will go to the other one rather than half to us and half to his other ex girlfriend Congratulations mate - having kids is the best feeling in the world and yours is the same age as my daughter (she was 5 on the 31st August). And she's asking when I'm taking her to her first game already
Great news mate, as for things that have not gone to plan previously (May) she'll not remember or worry about bumps in the road only who was around and there for her. Too much is made of the biology of where the child comes from as any parent in the world should be able to tell you that's got nothing to do with being a parent.
