Happy Birthday - presume you'll be treating yourself to an extra special beverage tonight? A whiskey perhaps? Or some posh sparkley stuff?
That is reminiscent of my brother who is still working as he enter his seventies despite having plenty of money. He's frightened that he will live to be 115 and run out of money. Death has never frightened me it will happen when it happens but one thing is for dead (forgive the pun) certain is that there will be no funeral for me. My will is quite explicit that when I die my body is to be taken straight to the crematorium and the ashes handed to my wife to do as she wishes - she jokingly says that she will have them put in an egg-timer so she can see me do some work for a change. I don't know what the system is in the UK but 12-15,000 dollars (5.5 - 6.5 thousand quid) for a funeral is far better off in my wife's bank account instead of a greedy arse funeral directors. I believe my way costs less than a grand here plus I have left a grand for a piss-up at the local pub for my close friends.
All the very best Roger - the Altes are really looking forwards to seeing you on the 25th. Have a great day.
Thanks for all the kind birthday wishes fellas. Just woke up..had my usual breakfast...cereal and orange juice.... and getting ready for todays game...lucky shirt etc...the usual nonsense!! Laurie (Roo) i love the Child Brides plans for your ashes. "Put em in an egg timer so you'll do some work for once in your life". Smart girl. Hope you all have a great day at the KC or listening to Burnsie and Swann. I'm beginning to warm to Swannie on Tiger Player...he's actually doing some fairly astute analysis these days (I think)...should be a win as Cardiff seem to be fading. Up to second by tonight!!!
48 degrees today Julian...but belting down with rain yesterday when I drove down from BC to Portland to celebrate my birthday with my daughters family. Hope the rainy weather clears up in London by the time I get there on Saturday.
