I would have loved to have read what Tobes thought about how the new ground is coming on.

Surprised the name hasn't been changed considering he was a slave owner and trader.

Are you going to be moving away from Finch Farm? I pass there most days when I'm in Liverpool. Looks alright but doesn't match the ground.

Bristol, Hull, Liverpool, London….

Change the name of a dock, knock down statues and buildings….

I’ve been watching some great YouTube videos of this build and the new Anfield stand

Our final planning meeting for the stadium expansion is tomorrow, with planning officers having recommended that the council give the project the green light.

The architects are KSS, same as the Anfield Road stand and the likely builders, apparently already in negotiations with the club, are Laing O'Rourke, who are the builders on the new Everton ground project.

Part of the rationale behind the whole project is that the 8,000 extra sears, 20 storey residential development, 220 room hotel, 6,000 capacity events arena, multi-storey car park and new club retail store will create additional revenue streams that will leave the club less reliant on 'player trading' and therefore more competitive in the EPL. Will also contribute significantly to the local economy and 'cultural offering'.

Just need to avoid getting relegated now <laugh>

It’ll come down to agreeing the Section 106. I’m sure the investors have applied for minimum affordable housing on the site and that’ll likely be rejected, with Leicester being a bit of a ****hole in general. 40% should get it over the line.

240 residences of differing types apparently...

That area has required development ever since I was a kid ... but the Grand Union canal runs just behind so there could be potential for apartments with a canal side aspect ...

So when will this be completed?

Construction due to start pretty soon after planning finalised ... apparently they can build it behind the existing stand and then add it on to the structure during the closed season ...

okay, when is it due to start

Y'all, I meant to do this six months ago, but I've been hoping against hope that he'd somehow make a Lazarus-like return. But if he couldn't make it back to revel in our Prem/CL loss and hapless start to the new season, then I have to accept that is not going to happen.

Please DM with messages if you'd like to add anecdotes and stuff (even welched bets ), but I think you can add to the page with donations anyway.

Farewell feller, you were a bloody class act. <ok>

Must admit I was hoping so too. I think brb making this thread though kind of made the worst real.

MacMillan is a good choice btw they are brilliant. Not just there to provide medical and emotional support, they're your mouthpiece and advocate in the care you receive including in those multi disciplinary meetings all consultants attend (usually weekly) to discuss your case. They're your eyes, ears and voice in those meetings. I don't think that's always apparent.
