I don't make a very convincing angry person. I really rarely have the capacity to get angry. My wife thinks it is funny when I raise my voice at the kids. I'm usually way too easy going to get angry... I just have to pretend I'm angry to get them to listen.
I would spank the kids when they were really small and not very hard. As they got older I quickly learnt that spanking isnt the most effective punishment, even if I turned up the severity a little. Taking away something they love temporarily seemed to be far more effective punishment.
