Should we sack Ange now?

It’s definitely the safe option and would get many fans back onside.

Would he leave the USA job so soon though?
It is relatively soon in his US role, but results have hardly been inspiring (2 defeats in last 2 games) and he may even have a release clause for a preferred club position.
Next US friendlies are not until June, so if Ange gets the heave-ho in the next couple of weeks it's certainly not impossible.

Really loved Pochettino managing us and thought sacking him was a disgrace and nonsensical decision.

But think it would be a disaster having him back

I don’t think it would be the right move for either party. But Levy took a massive risk when appointing Ange and it’s not worked out at all so I could see Levy playing it safe this time with a low risk appointment which Poch would be

Not sure it's a low risk signing tbh. The squad needs an overhaul and it took pocketing until after Xmas to get Chelsea moving the right way. Not sure he could do it that quickly with us.
My fear is Southgate. Not controversial as a person, don't antagonise the media and currently without a club. Have nightmares about that happening

I think Poch could do a lot better with the current squad than theyre currently showing.

Southgate would be a disaster but yeah that wouldn’t surprise me massively either

Really loved Pochettino managing us and thought sacking him *** was a disgrace and nonsensical decision.

*** at the time ??
Perhaps.

With hindsight (transfer decisions etc) ??
Perhaps not.

"But think it would be a disaster having him back"

I cannot think of many England league managers who,
having taken a club to a particular peak level and then
leaving, as returned to continue or better that level.

Jose and his two stints at Chelsky is the only one offhand.

That’s why I don’t want Poch back, returning rarely works out and the expectation on him would be a lot higher than any other manager.

The alternatives to Poch aren’t inspiring though. Would love Xabi Alonso but there’s no way he chooses to come to Spurs at the moment.

If Villa miss out on CL football and by some miracle we win the EL, we should actually live by our motto and dare to make a strong approach for Emery. Top, top manager imo who would do serious damage with our squad and healthier finances.

That's just simple stats....most managers are not successful and very few return to a club they have left. So there are almost no examples of a successful return. That doesn't mean that returning is a bad thing.

In this case he may be the best option but that’s only because the other names linked are very underwhelming.

The main issue there is Emery did have a reputation at Arsenal for needing to change his team at half time as the starting lineup wasn't working

Not sure why that sounds so familiar...

We have to be looking at Glasner very seriously.

He's doing a superb job there.
Have to wonder if Eintracht's late season form was the only reason we didn't bring him in two years ago

From the moment Conte flounced and we were (according to Bilge) looking at him they picked up 10 points out of 27 (and seven of those were in their last three games), lost the German Cup final and got utterly shellacked by Napoli in the Champions league

Changed my vote. Before I wanted him gone as soon as Europe was done and dusted.

Now I just want him gone asap, every defeat is massively damaging
Was waiting till the Europa was finished one way or the other. But we can't continue like this. Every defeat is increasingly more embarrassing. He has to go now. Don't care if we have a semi coming up. We have more chance of success without him than we do with him.

I find it impossible to say anything in his defence. We are awful to watch...can't remember the last time I thought we played entertaining football (unless we consider the oppo fans <laugh>).

It's worse than Nuno, JM and Conte combined

It’s just getting worse and worse every week. The fact that most of us were relieved it was ‘only’ 5 is damning.

There’s no way back for him regardless now.

The only honour he has remaining is to win the EL.
Fortunately for him his squad also know it to be true for them.

There is only sense in keeping him in his post if the club has decided to keep him on next year if we win the EL.

This would be an act of rank stupidity imo, but I wouldn't put it past the clowns who run our club to see it as a logical move.

If on the other hand it has been decided that regardless of our fate in the EL, he is gone in the summer, this leads to perhaps an even more worrying conclusion:

The club has decided that he is the wrong man for the job, and is nevertheless entrusting a chance to win our first trophy in 17 years and first European trophy in over a generation to a man who is, and I quote, the wrong man for the job.

Levy has well and truly snookered himself this season.
