possibly true Syd but if he has not been found guilty?? as I said I am split on this, I hate drugs, but it says even after a drugs test he was not found with any in his system. I am torn on the whole situation, if it can be proved he was 100% in the wrong then I say sack him. If he is innocent and a victim of entrapment then its a little unfair on the guy. One thing is for sure, he is not the sharpest tool in the box.
We need to remember that there is a ditterence in the level of evidence needed in a court of law and in employment law. If you are in court the evidence must show that it did happen (beyond all reasonable doubt) in employment law it only has to be proved on the balance of probability, so if it is 51% likely then that is enough. So even if he is not found guilty in court he can still be deemed to have brought his employer into discredit. The fact that it did not take place at work is not a defence. In many jobs teaching, law medcine even the media there are codes of conduct which spell out what is seen as inappropriate behaviour. Can antbody say that seeing Titus pull on a Sunderland shirt in a game or even in training will do anything but harm to his employer? No, so on that basis he must go.
I do sense a smidgeon of hypocrisy on this thread. Let's face it, if we had, say, Vidic playing for us and he did something daft, we'd be loathe to see the back of him. If he really did rape someone or get caught dealing drugs, or at least with a quantity of drugs above the "personal use" level, he'd be looking at prison and the point would be moot. But these charges are pretty serious and so the standard of proof will have to be the highest and rightly so. He's still a stupid bastard though.
