BR is totally right. If we'd beaten Villa and WBA we'd be in the title race. We didn't, so we're not. It's reality. Even if we beat Arsenal, we're two results for us combined with two losses for them away from top spot.....and that's assuming City and Utd drop similar points. We're a lot closer to 5th than we are to 1st. Widening that gap between 4th and 5th needs to be our sole priority. Even over the Cup. If one of the top 3 have a wobble, all well and good, but let's not rely on it.
You'll know a lot more after this weekend. Could be 5 points, could be 11. If you lose to Arsenal I'd say you're out of it for sure and realistically you probably need to win. To catch City, Chelsea and Arsenal would be a big ask. Just keep United out the top 4!!
Personally I'd rather we had the discipline to focus on each game. No Europe this year and yet each time we have a big performance or the odd international our focus is off the next match no matter who the opponents are. It can't be about fitness although someone start feeding Coutinho porridge with a dash of spinach to remove his 60 minute pain barrier. Said it before, less talking from manager and players about things that they should just do on the pitch. Talk about how great or poor we were and the work done or needs to be done afterward's. I know a manager and players need to do the pr stuff but make it short and make it the cliche "it's all about the next match" because it should be. The points will then tally themselves, looking at gaps above and below is pointless, winning games gets you 3. We are doing very well, now just push that little bit harder lads.
