It's a bit tongue in cheek, but it has a point. I generally find atheists seem to think they can spout off about how stupid religion is and that theirs is the rational point of view, without considering why other people have religious beliefs. Logic tells me that belief in the world coming together from one almighty big explosion is equally as unlikely as some "higher power" starting it all off.

Hmmm, thought it was about 300 miles north of you.

No. I'm about 300 miles South of it. Now, AB, if you're thinking about converting I should be able to help. Still time to save your football soul...;)

<ok> Which is why I am agnostic. You seem to be confusing atheism with lack of religion. It is unknown whether there was some form of higher power that triggered the Big Bang, (science has provided us with strong evidence for the big bang btw) and I don't think it would be wise to instantly disregard that possibility until it is proven otherwise.
I do however know that a lot of the foundations and key points of the mainstream religions have been disproven and/or can now be explained by our understanding of the world through knowledge which wasn't available to people in the past.

I see what you are getting at though, there are a lot of militant atheists on the internet who purposefully flick through Youtube videos or blogs and start having a go, that isn't the majority though and it would be unfair to think so.

Fair do's. Religion will always be a personal matter. I think that a lot of the trappings of religion are a bit daft, but the philosophical side is very useful.

p.s. come on, AB. You know you want to :)

Praise de Lord! A sinner has repented.

It's pretty easy to convert. Supporting Sunderland is very similar to supporting NUFC. The stripes are a different colour, but the pain and silver-free existence is the same....

Not much point converting and changing colours then. I've just changed my mind.

    Fickle tart.

BTW, how come your crowd was low today? All these cracks about us and you were 10k short, although I suspect that Fulham didn't bring too many.
