170+ Imperial Commander <laugh>
Master Minded rated above Sizing Europe????

Just in case anyone's interested - I mailed the Twister about Little Josh (I have him in my 10 to follow). He is back in work and should be running around the end of January <ok>

One that interests me is the 135+ for Black Caviar. Unbeaten in 16, and I suppose deserving of her rating. But I've long been a supporter of a horse called Kingston Town, an animal rated at 137. This is a horse that won 30 of 41 with 5 seconds and a couple of thirds thrown in. As good as Blackie is, I seriously don't think she's as good as the King was. For mine, he's the best horse this country has seen on 50 years. And for him to be rated only a couple of pounds in front of her is a shame. I see things like this and I'm left a little dismayed at the system.

One only has to look in some races at clear top rated horses that get well beaten to see that Timeform aren't the B all and end all; certainly not as reliable as they used to be. I regard them as just another view to consider. If they were to split their ratings into Actual Achievement and Potential it would be much more interesting. Eg if horse A beats horse B achieving a rating of 100 (horse B, 97) then horse B goes on in its next race to achieve a rating of 120, horse A should stay on its rating of 100 but have a potential rating of 20+3. The accompanying comments would indicate the likelihood of achieving the potential. I believe there is one Timeform product (Perspective?) where the Timeform rating achieved for each race is given. Can't afford that though.
