I only saw him play against Spurs (must be 3 years ago) but surely an eager Tom Soares is better that a sulky Pennant?

Anyone who wants to play and compete for the club is better than aplayer who doesn't. However, the purchases of Soars, Tongue etc..... were expensive championship players with no place in an EVOLVING premier league team/squad. However, he did have a veru good game against spurs that year and got Bale sent off!
I would give shotton a go at right wing, he always bursts forward with plenty of pace (when he plays full back) and scores a few too.
A Sheffield Wednesday fan keeps telling me he's been fantastic for them. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but Pulis refused to let Marshall play in the FA Cup for Wednesday so maybe that means he's coming back in January. Clutching straws or what?!
