Massa, Hamilton and Webber have all had a bad season this year and people are always saying Massa and Webber are crap and should be replaced but when someone gives a point of view that Hamilton should get dropped people get all angry and pathetic about the suggestion.
Well, I'm not one of those who gets angry about this, Mifune; but on the basis of the evidence, perhaps people object because Hamilton is far closer to his team mate than those you are comparing him with?
Firstly, like cosicave said. Those two drivers are miles off their team mates. Secondly, Hamilton is a former World Champion. The other 2 are not. Thirdly, Race wins 3-1-0. Webber only winning one race in the best car. My opinion I wouldn't drop any of the drivers from their teams. Webber is a level headed guy and is a good driver. Massa has had a bad couple of seasons but I'm sure he's got it in him to challenge Fernando.
I am not really talking about whether Hamilton should get dropped or not, my point was that some people seem to be outraged just by the fact that someone could suggest Hamilton should be dropped. I could write a thread putting forwards an argument for possible reasons why drivers such as Sutil, Maldonado, Petrov, etc should be dropped and while people may disagree it would not be met with the same hostility as if I suggested the same this with Hamilton. I guess my general point is that you can't really say anything even vaguely negative about Hamilton without someone accusing you of this that and the other. I would also like to say the same thing is starting to happen with Vettel as well.
Reactions from different people are likely to be different. What is acceptable by some is less acceptable to others. Some people can take a chill-pill when they see opinion which is at variance to their own, whilst others find it more difficult. This is why people should make an effort to be respectful whilst stating their opinions. Opinions may get noticed, and sometimes met with a silent nod; but this is very unlikely if an opinion is expressed in an inflammatory way, since the inflammatory part of any comment likely provokes retaliation, rather than an adjustment of one's view. P.S. I refer to Mifune's post (above).
Some of these comments... ffs! Why are people jumping to conclusions and making wild accusations anyway? All I did was give my opinion and explain it as clearly as I could. If that's unacceptable, ridiculous or moronic, maybe I shouldn't be posting here, or on British forums.
Ahh come on Forza knew exactly what he was doing he wanted to be centre of attension so he created a thread like this to **** stir. He has always had it in for hammy and loves showing his blatent hatred towards him.
So are you complaining that people aren't agreeing with your opinion? One that was clear would be create a lot of debate from those agreeing or disagreeing with you? However, it is a joke that you , of all people, are now complaining about others posts. Whilst the hatchet is buried from previous forums, for you to adopt a hollier-than-thou respect issue is still somewhat of a laughing point. History can never be fully forgotten, in whatever walk of life it is in.
F111CR: do you think your comment is helpful or inflammatory? What do you hope for in making such a comment, or don't you care? Even if your suspicions are correct, such a reaction is likely to make the situation worse isn't it? If you don't like what you've read, why not set an example? Throwing litter in a littered street doesn't help the problem. In fact, it is likely to make even more people care less, and contribute to the litter! When not help clean this place up? Or are you intending to help in its downfall?
Don't go the way of LewisWDC/PMC and start ranting and raving without offering a valid point to the thread.
This thread to innocent minds is a very valid point but I guess the factors of 2007 and being on a british forum would turn it this way. In a bid to restart this thread in a respectable manner, my opinion is that yeah sure Hamilton has not had a great season, but shouldnt be replaced. Come the end of next season and the following, if Hamilton was under performing against button then in normal circumstances Mclaren will be thinking of replacing him and not renewing his contract. yet... Hamiltons contract at mclaren is not a normal circumstance and his position is of one of the family in the team. developed and manufactured by the Mclaren outfit (ala Vettel at Red Bull) so possibly the only way Hamilton will move teams will be by his own choice. Frankly in my opinion him moving on eventually would be a good idea as for most top sportsmen, being around the same surroundings can become stale where as a new team and motive can inspire and bring the best out of your talent.
I would welcome Lewis in open arms if he came to Mercedes, Schumacher can't drive forever and may not continue after next season. A Brawn+Nico+Lewis combo could be a real solid outfit if given enough years to improve.
Hamilton has been accident prone this season, Webber and Massa have just been crap, in Massa's case dirty and crap. Everyone knows what I think of Webber, and I don't think much better of Massa from a driving viewpoint either, but to suggest Hamilton belongs with these other 2 is preposterous, he's been fast but erratic, if he's the same next year, then yes, but otherwise no no no.
Wtf them fools arent on my level all im saying is ive seen how he posts about hamilton mostly negative . Yes i know he's had a bad season blah blah but to say he needs replacing is a joke. Despite his worst season in f1 he has has 3 wins and is the only non redbull driver to get a pole this year. Its threads like these that make you wonder The guy has personal issues with Lewis . He was looking for a reaction end of.
So an article written by a Ferrari fan that seeks to issue advice to McLaren should be taken seriously should it? The article implies that Hamilton should not be in motor racing at all judging by how bad a driver the author claims him to be. Pirrelli hiding poor tyre management? Really? Obviously not hiding it well enough for the author not to spot his tyre management skills. So before Pirrelli his poor tyre management stood out like a sore thumb. It puzzles me why he managed to do so well then. Any more Ferrari type advice for McLaren?
Personally, I don't see a problem with a so-called 'McLaren fan', 'Ferrari fan' or whatever, offering an opinion about a different team. After all, if people cannot offer an opinion, even if it holds bias, then a forum becomes pointless because the exchange of views ceases to exist unless it is purely in agreement. Most people favour some teams more than others, and surely this is perfectly natural? What matters is not who one supports or does not support, but the way in which a view is expressed. We should try to be respectful at all times, but this does not preclude criticism; whether fair or unfair, so long as it does not break house rules or British law. If you see a comment that attacks 'your' driver; do not take it personally! Even if you feel that criticism of Hamilton or Schumacher (for instance) is a direct attack upon yourself, do not react with a personalised comment aimed at another forum member. Instead, present your own argument in a reasoned and respectful manner. Stay calm. Try not to get angry when someone will not see your point. The longer the disagreement continues, the less likely 'converting' a perceived opponent will be; so be patient and present your point(s) reasonably, logically and unemotionally if you can. Remember that we all have something in common and that if any of us were to meet in real life, we'd probably be sharing a pint at our local pub. We would not be bashing seven bells out of each other! Disagree? Sure! Why not? It is debate after all. But be respectful of those who you do not agree with!
