The trouble with 4-4-2 is that a lot of teams play 4-5-1 or a variation thereof and out-number us in midfield....much like Liverpool did for 70 odd mins. If we play 4-4-2 against Arsenal I fear they will pass through our midfield like a knife through butter!!

Totally agree Col. For me to play 4-4-2 you need to be very stong in the back 4 and very strong defensively in midfield - and that by definition excludes us! The other problem is the one Langley refers to on another thread - we seem to be lacking any clear formation under MH.
