Yeah I’m pretty sure he will. I’m not anti Wyke at all mind, he tries, he does a fair bit, indeed back end of last season he was scoring a few as well. If Parky plays to his strengths then he’s regularly scored plenty in this league. Was he at Bradford with Parkinson?
Not sure marra Tell you what though big Charlie puts more effort in than grigg does mind I kna that's not saying much
Absolutely. I think without such badly times injuries Wyke could have been a good buy, still might be. As he’s a weighty lad he’s so far off the pace when he comes back, 4-5 games he starts to look useful then invariably and injury has followed. He’s been bang unlucky.
Fair play to whoever deserves credit for it, he started the season in great physical condition. He's winning loads more headers now it's just that there was nobody running onto them, I think he linked up alright with McNulty but seems to have no chemistry with Grigg. Watmore might be one to take advantage, he might have lost some top speed but he's still rapid off the mark and can get to flick ons first.
McNulty always looks like he could really make the difference. I really like the lad, but again, always ****ing gets a knock. He can do bits on his own, and that alone stands him out from the other 2.
Yeah you're right, world of difference between a forward who makes things happen and one who will finish a move. Even more so at this level, it's alright in the premier league to goal poach and do nowt else because they've got the quality and will score if they get a sniff, league one strikers need more chances to net and they weren't getting them so Grigg became completely ineffective. Still time for him though innit, I think a big part of it's in his head and a new manager might well be the key to turn it around for him. Popular theory that Ross wasn't getting the ball to him enough but that wasn't the main problem for me.
I’ve not given up on Grigg like. He scored in his last game after all, and a change in any walk of life can be a spark. Clean slates all round. We blamed Ross above and beyond the players, now we start fresh and it’s for the players to prove us right or wrong.
If we are to go two up front,( and I doubt our new manager will ), I would play McG in the hole and Gooch or McNulty ahead of him, Wyke and Watmore have looked useful when on the pitch together, and would be used if we go one up front with Wyke supported by a midfield four including Watty and O/9 plus central box to box men, who are thin on the ground I admit, but Dobson, Hume, Robson and Embleton would all be usefull, playing a quick pass and move game, with the squad we have this is the way forward and might just might see Grigg become the player we all thought we were getting. I think we have little chance of seeing any of this tbh but we live in hope.
Watmore should always be a impact sub Get him on last 20 mins when he can use his pace against tired defenders
He needs to be used sparingly as you say, he is without doubt our talisman, and should not be asked to lead the charge too often imo, Ross made this mistake last year and paid a heavy price, who knows how the play offs would have gone if a fit Watmore had been available.
I'm going for Nads as Coach... Chunk as his right hand man and Norton responsible for getting us back into Europe
I am hoping Parky has up much more up for a fight and to scrap for this one, as a starter. That in itself would be a big upside. They're dirty coonts
Aye. I’m hoping to see someone clatter one of them early doors just to show them we are ready for it. That’s the way.
This is where we need to fight fire with fire ... ... a real mouthy captain and a vocal manager. Ross stood by, with his hands in his pockets, and watched us kicked all over Wycomb last season.
Like to see us press more. Seems to work in this league. Certainly does for opposing teams when they play us. Oh and more ****housery. If you can’t beat em join em.
