The problems are both ahead and behind Wijnaldum. First, sort the striker - De Jong is worth a shot. He's stronger than Perez, at least has movement and talks. Second, play a defensive midfielder. Shelvey likes to hang back naturally, but if you free him up a little more with a real DM - and Saivet looked alright - then you've got a better shot of making this formation work. I'd really encourage Gini to almost make it a 4-4-2, and ask him to really move around up front with license to do so. As it stands he keeps dropping to get the ball, but when you've then got Mitrovic and no other midfielder running from deep, your options are limited. Perez likes it to feet and to turn at defenders. He can't be up top on his own, nor can he be out wide. Townsend, Sissoko, Aarons for the wings, Saivet or Tiote and Shelvey in the middle, De Jong - Gini up top.

He won't. He is lazy, has poor technical ability, and we can't find a role for him. He certainly cannot play centre midfield as either a box to box, creative or holding midfielder as possesses none of the quality required of those roles in a PL environment. He has had a mountain of support since arriving and has proceeded to chuck it back in our faces.

    Time to take the money.

Spot on ..everyone can have a bad game / loss of form etc ...Sissoko has done all that (all our mob have done that in spades) but it's his ..can't be arsed attitude in way, way too many games that I find ...grates

It would be great if Rafa is the sort of manager Sissoko feels is 'worthy' of his effort ..For the last 9 games ..and actually shows us what everyone believes, has supported ..and very occasionally glimpsed ...as we need all the help we can get atm

That said ..and even if he turned into a beast ..He ain't worth it to me ...The best thing since sliced bread/ can't be arsed attitude will creep back in eventually ..get shot this summer and get someone that ..actually gives a toss

Yeah giving De Jong a shot is worth it, at least till Cissé returns. At least De Jong and Gini both speak the same language.
