It's time to hold my hands up. There doesn't look like being any second season syndrome and the side has matured beyond the side that got through last season with momentum, energy and a bloody good goalkeeper.

Congratulations, your side are good to watch, pack the stadium, have a stable board, are financially secure. Provided the club don't decide to splash out on big names undermining the rest of the squad I think you have a strong platform to build on now.

Merry Christmas my feathered foes.
 
Why thankyou Mr LYHLITFC, very magnanimous of you. For what it's worth, I think Town will survive now that MM's at the helm. As soon as he was appointed I feared the worst ! <whistle>

As fans we have been lucky that with the board we have. It is their hard work and decision making that has reaped the rewards. As fans we have stood by our club through thick and thin. The thin was much thinner than that being experienced by Town at the moment.

The drop to League one gave us easier oposition and therefore the chance to build momentum. The feeling all over the city grew and grew and the premiership was reached on a wave of optimism.

What we have achieved as a club, as a city, shows what can be done. Ipswich too CAN build that kind of momentum. Question is though, can it be done without a trip to League 1? I doubt very much that we would now be in the prem if we had not been relegated.

I for one would love a Premier League 'Old Farm Derby' sooner rather than later. That said, just one season of Town in League 1 to enable them to build the same kind of momentum would be fun for me too :)

I did as well! Great chance to see all these different new clubs that we haven't really played, like Exeter and Wycombe. Even got to see Arsenal's current first team 'keeper Szcesney while he was on loan at Brentford.
 
Er, thanks there yorkie. Xmas time is a good time to drop some of the old rivalries.

still a long way to go this season - we've a good point tally to build on, but i won't be completely comfortable until we hit the 30 point mark.

Apart from the odd poor result - like losing to Tranmere and Leyton Orient, many of us did. It meant adios to Gunn, Munby and Doomcaster, for starters, followed swiftly by the arrival of McNally then Lambert.<ok>

Basically, it forced a root and branch re-evaluation of the entire club from which (so far - touch wood) we're still reaping the dividends of.

I suspect had we not been relegated at Charlton, we'd still be mid-Championship plodders, as there would have been no real need for such a drastic renaissance.

I'm sure if Doomcaster was still on the payroll, some of our prize assets (for us anyway) eg - Holt, Hoolahoops and Ruddy would no longer be playing in Yellow and Green. Mind you, would NCFC still be in existence had McNally not replaced him??

I miss the honesty of it sometimes and the blood and guts nature of it. But hey onwards and upwards and all that.
 
I remember the Stockport game at home and they literaly brought 1 or 2 coach loads down to the match. Gary Ablett was in charge then at Stockport and they were in administration and in a real poor state.

We scored, they leveled and then Holty tucked the winner away in the 87th minute or something. Stockport went down to league 2 and poor old Ablett died about a year after that a real shame. Think he went to Ipswich as a coach or something.

gary ablett rip. that was my only home game that season, Anthony macnamee scored! oh how our squad has changed.
i enjoyed going to wycombe wanderers just after new year, plus swindon - the county ground was a good old school ground.

What a cracker that goal was too. I was sitting in the Jarrold where he shot from outside the penalty area and watched it bend into the top corner. What happended to Macnamee? He was great as an impact sub.
 
didn't it take a deflection that looped it up a bit? i'm sure his intention was to shoot, but the deflection helped.
he went to MK Dons after us but pretty sure he didn't stay there long, i don't know where he is now - i'd guess at somewhere in League 2
 
Maybe it did take a defelction, it looked really good though!

I remember thinking he was fast and good at running at people but struggled with end product, does that sound right?
 
Swans fan here. Yeah for both our clubs, this second season syndrome is great. Like us your club is doing it the right way. I have a a lot respect for Norwich, unlike that other club that came up with us.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday. The way both teams are playing I have no idea how the game is going to go. Pressing us like you did last season might not work as we are far better counter attacking side this season.

Anyway have a good rest of the season. I'm sure you will be in the top ten.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm sure there is a waiting list for season tickets - unless the plans to increase capacity come to fruition. Most home games are around £40 to £50 a ticket for casual fans, but some local pubs certainly show the 'away' games - not sure if that will continue next season. <ok>
