as I understand it all clubs have a unilateral blanket cover of insurance ….I think they "a lot" certain amounts to each player .. and then take out additional to cover other eventualities... like eg, if you have a player worth £80m insurance would be gone, if you divided amongst squad each may get some cover …. in this day and age a footballer wages makes it expensive!
Fammy and Weimann forced to play together might just develop... [ bit like having to play Reid because of circumstances ] a nice trio going at the mo ...........Fammy, Weimann Niclas ….. Callum could also come good!
You all know my thoughts on our head coach but I say leave it to him and MA. It's their responsibility.
Bony it is then will be a good signing heard a wisper a deal is going to hopefully be thrashed out between club and player.
Hope you're right but I hang fire on getting the bunting out for a striker who has scored 11 goals in 5 seasons
I may be proven wrong but signing Bony I think would be a massive mistake, we only need hang on until January.
It’s difficult, we are short striker wise, so I understand the concerns, imagine should Fam get injured , but I’m not convinced any of the out of contract players are the answer.
I agree Wiz....never rated him..but hey ho, may turn out to be a super striker........I just don't see it.
Cardiff City are in a race with Celtic and Bristol City to sign Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga, according to reports . Assombalonga's future at the Riverside is uncertain with the club looking to make savings after heavy investment in the squad without the reward of promotion to the Premier League. The striker has a fine goalscoring record of 115 strikes in 278 matches for Boro, Nottingham Forest, Peterborough and Southend. He has been playing in the African Cup of Nations this summer for DR Congo. Assombalonga is said to be interesting Celtic in particular, with manager Neil Lennon having made capturing a front man a priority. But Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has the same priority having been short of options up front for much of last season.
RR - either keep up please or stop trying to con everyone...... That report is old hat and was carried by Walesonline last July. You've just cut and pasted the text from 4 months ago - see below......... https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...s/cardiff-city-battle-celtic-bristol-16580802
If they can afford him, I suspect he would go to Celtic. Guaranteed to be in a title race and European football, plus he would score far more goals in that league than the Championship or Premier League. Rangers have actually got a few ex-City players in their squad, none of whom impressed in the slightest during their time at the Gate......
No probs RR - just goes to show stuff you read on social media can be very misleading. That's why I don't bother with any of it, never have and never will.
There were rumours that Assombalonga might come to us back in the summer. The story was that he wanted away from Boro as he wasn’t getting games under their manager (Pulis was it?), but his wages and possibly the asking price were too high.
Nah Father Xmas is going to bring us a lovely surprise and I reckon Afobe will score the winner to take us up
