Until this morning i thought we would definately get relegated , based on our current woeful form . Then i decided to have a look at our rivals fixtures and based on their equally woeful form i'm now pretty optimistic . I cant possibly see Wigan , Blackburn or Wolves getting more points than us . Bolton maybe could ,but at worst i could see us finishing 4th bottom at best 5th bottom .

In the wake of our two latest defeats, the possibility of relegation is more real; if that is realism, then so be it. There are still 39 points that we can lay claim to so until we cannot physically amass enough to stay up, it is not beyond hope.
Trouble is it is hard to see us picking up enough points with indifferent 90 minute performances like we have seen of late. And luck? That balances itself out over a season.

    why we will stay up:
Djbril Cisse - first decent sriker we have had at the club in a long long time. A plonker for getting a red card but so far 1 goal in one and a bit games....
MH - the players will get fitter under him.
Loftus RD. We have gone from Fortress LR to flimsey LR. This should be our twelve man!!
AT - the boy needs a goal. Even if it is a mishit shot that takes 3 or 4 deflections....once he gets one HE will get more.
We are not the worst team in the division
Reasons why we wil go down.
Players losing heart, and their belief

We are QPR. We don't do EASY...we like things to be as bloody difficult as possible. We want all our fans to have salt and peppa hair, high blood pressure and come May...a massive grin on your face when we do stay up.
Let's be honest, in the last 15 years some of the things we have encountered are relegation through to league 1, almost gone bankrupt, lost two players RIP Kiyan Prince and Ray Jones. Relegation is not the end of the world, but until it's mathematically impossible to stay up, my words to you my friends are
    WE ARE STAYING UP

Depressing reading through this thread...but you have got to keep hope. For us to stay up...I think a new team has to come back from this little break ready to give their all for the rest of the season as a united force. There are obviously no easy games in the Premiership...but we do have a few winnable ones coming up imo. Ignore the top six, and we could nick some points from elsewhere. There should be no motivation other that revenge needed for Fulham, we could get something from Everton (as we did earlier in the season), we could take some from Bolton, Swansea at home and Stoke are games we could get something from and if we get lucky away at West Brom...so from those six games I have hope (maybe blind hope) that we can get enough points to scrape safety.

Of course, all that really relies on Mark Hughes having taken the squad away and them returning as fired up unit ready to work together and give 100%.

    We can do it.

Keep the faith - we have a pool of talented players now and a competent and experienced manager. Sparky and his team will iron out the basic errors displayed at Blackburn, and once we start playing again like we did against Wolves pre-Cisse's red card, fragile confidence will become more robust and we'll be a match for anyone.

I shall bring along my collection of bended spoons I bought off of Yuri Geller round the back of KFC. A couple are plastic and have snapped but he assured me the positive mind rays coming out of them can inspire anyone to do anything!

PS Sparky has the best hair cut out of all the managers in the league, just wanted to make that point clear

Staines - Youve got to analyse the mistakes to understand the errors, acknowledge those, make changes and move on. Thats not negativity thats part of the healing process.

For Christ's sake look at the disasters QPR have self inflicted over the years. This period of relative uselessness has taken place in the Prem, yes it could be better but then again we could have been in League 1 playing Yeovil away. Imagine how Sheffield Wednesday or United's supporters feel. Thats proper depressing.

My only real annoyance this season actually has been Cisse's red card. Hes a better pro and should have walked away from that challenge otherwise its been the usual up down up down zigzag approach to life that has aways been and always will be QPR.

Carlos, Sparky's hair looks rubbish, its not a patch on Martin Jol's 'Phil Mitchell' impression.

We need anywhere between 35 and 40 points to stay up this season. As it stands with us on 21 points and 13 games to go where are these points going to come from? With games against Liverpool, Gooners, Man Utd, Spuds, Chelski and Citeh the chances of beating the drop are slim. Our record against the 'lower' teams is also p*ss poor so I don't think there is much to be had from the other games coming up.

The negatives are that we are on our third team so far this season, some of the signings have not been very good (I point the finger at Barton, SWP, Gabbidon) and others haven't exactly inspired me with confidence (Onuoha, Taiwo, Traore) and we are left hoping that Cisse (when the ban finishes), Zamora and an un-tried Diakite are good enough to lift our game.

The positives are few, maybe Diakite is as hot as Sparky claims, maybe an injury free and confident defence can emerge and Cisse & Zamora could be the key to a goal bonanza, maybe Adel gets the rub of the green and sees some of his trademark 20 yarders fly into the net.

Win the next 3 games and I reckon we have enough about us to avoid the drop, lose them and I think it is done and dusted.

You're so wrong. With a little rat tail on the back he could easily pass as a 17th century swashbuckler - just slap on a zorro mask and he's a highwayman!

Dye it black and he could easily play an older version of Clarke Kent if they wanted to produce a Superman 'the retirement years' spin-off.

Shave the sides and the middle, spike up the corners and hey presto, he's Wolverine from the X-Men.

Put him in a silk suit and he could easily pass for a Joe Pesci type character in a gangster film.

Martin Jol just looks like he eats rocks for breakfast, have you seen the size of his jaw? Its equivalent in mass to a Nissan Micra

Thought I'd logged onto the Samaritans by mistake.

I'm gutted about the 2 sendings off when we've been 1-0 up and worry about Cisse getting targeted for a reaction.

BUT we have been unlucky at least as much as we've been lucky.

Also, why does everyone think the top 6 are untouchable? I now think we're playing them at a fair time - how often do THEY say that they'd prefer to avoid teams battling for their lives? We might end up playing their reserves anyway because they've got nothing to play for.

Form is temporary and we haven't got one of the 3 worst teams on paper.

Agree! We can take points from the top teams especially when we are fired up and they have other priorities.

Nice one Legal Eagle, I have never seen a thread with so many posters in such dire need of a blow job ( apologies Beth). Relax lads, stop worrying about things you can't change, and enjoy the ride.....

I have just had a look at the other 'candidates' run in and they all have between 4 or 5 of the top teams to play as well.

Ha! That picture of Jol has to be warped/edited in some way. The distance between his mouth and his chin is greater than the distance between his mouth and his eyebrows!

He looks like a cross between the giant heads on Easter Island and the Scream mask
(**not a personal jibe just commenting on that particular picture - I actually quite like Martin Jol and is probably a nice guy. As in, you could maybe go to Amsterdam and end up smoking a massive spliff with him in a coffe shop or something**)
