Bollocks. Under Bruce used to moan every week on here about setting up for a draw away at Stoke, West Brom etc.

Anyone desperate enough to want to be back in work? Oh yeah Ian Dowie's still out of a job...

A Leicester fan rang Talksport after last weekends game and said Ranieri should be sacked and replaced with Dowie.

    I **** you not.

I listened to that, absolutely hilarious. Modern day supporter, U was half expecting him to say he was off back to supporting Chelsea.

Dowie...had some success at Oldham, then got Palace up. Coming from nowhere.....Stayed in the prem one season...Didn't do a lot at Charlton, then Coventry and done Jack $hit ever since. Therefore, I think he's a shoe-in for a top job..

Nigel Pearson's out of work. Perhaps he wouldn't mind a return to City... After all he's got 'unfinished business'.... (tongue firmly in cheek)

That had nothing to do with it. He told me as soon as Adam left that if any comparable club came in then he's off.

His reluctance and lack of enthusiasm when waving to the crowd was shocking, also, his lack of banter and regular putdowns of the local media/armchair manager types curried him no favour with ''the fans''. Those ITK will also inform you that he's **** without his sidekicks as his TWELVE games managing Derby County will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Well it didnt did it? It was 12 games in one stint. If he does terribly from now on until the end of his career then it'll prove it. And it;s got nothing to do with being ITK, everyone knows he didnt have Walsh with him at Derby, because he went to Everton in great fanfare.

Oh for a manager with banter and waving skills, those should definitely be top of the list when it comes to making any appointment.

You've not paid for one in a while either.

    Now that's enough.

Ok, I've not really commented on the Phelan issue before, because I genuinely aren't sure whether he can prove himself to be a good manager or not. I don't think he had much influence over the signings made in the summer, so he cannot really be judged on signings yet.
Initially, what we saw was quite encouraging; regardless of concerns around quality, a small squad seemed galvanised and both defended and attacked with purpose and desire, and Livermore, Davies and Clucas in particular were inspired. Selection wasn't really an issue at that point because there was so little to select from.
We seem a million miles away from that now. Selection still isn't really a major issue because we've barely ever had a 'full' squad to pick from...we realistically are only looking at the keeper, Maguire, Meyler and Huddlestone as alternative options to the 11 Phelan is picking. It is hard to clamour for 2 strikers up front when we haven't actually got 2 to pick from, so I'm on the fence on that one.
Where I do have a problem is with picking Mason out on the left, not considering wing-backs, and most importantly, the evident lack of purpose in our play. Regardless of formation, tactics or personnel, we just look like an insipid bunch of victims going through the motions waiting for the inevitable opposition goal. I wouldn't mind so much if the opposition were any good, but West Brom, Boro, Stoke, Sunderland, Newcastle etc simply aren't: they are poor sides that we should be competitive against.
