exactly phelan was desperate for a managers job, he got turned down at norwich and bruce leaving was his miracle
Going purely on ability, Hudds had a good start and was even being touted for an England call on MOTD, and Elmo was being linked with bigger clubs while we were still in PL before so they should be regulars. As you say though, something has stopped them for long spells from performing anything like the levels they're capable of.
It might only be half cack, MP might have told Ehab there was an offer in order to get the contract even if there was no offer.
My issue with Tom is that he's supposedly been our highest earner, but has only made 3 PL starts since Henriksen and Mason settled in (around mid September) and in one of those he was pulled off at HT. That's some waste of £50k ish a week
Has anybody got an actual link or source to Clucas saying this? Also, just because he played poorly last night is no reason to start with all the "Clueless" **** again. It was agreed that it was unfair.
We played the first 5 games with nearly the same side inc Jak lost narrowly to Man Utd, lost to Arsenal but had a go, then Marshall, Mason and Hendrickson started games, got hammered at Liverpool, Bournemouth and losing 5 on the spin, is it coincidence that the new signings upset the team, Yes it is, time to go Phelan
"The spirit in the squad is second-to-none and we are determined to achieve our goals in the Premier League this season," Clucas told the club website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37107313
Grimsby would have given Boro a harder game last night. At least under Bruce he waited until we were leading before raising the drawbridge. Phelan instructs the team to hold onto a 0-0 from the outset. Anyone who watched that garbage last night must be deranged if they don't think that Phelan's tactics are costing us dear. Let the players play and if we get beaten we can accept that. What I struggle with is the abject surrender starting from the kick off. I will not criticise any players playing under Phelan's methods.
Yes just looked he came on as sub, it's upset the team badly getting the new players in, Phelan has changed his tactics to accommodate them
Q....Who would want to come into the building and want to work with that squad...??? Answers on the back of a stamp please. Someone please wake me up when we hit the bottom of Div 2..
2 very good goalies, soon to be 3. 2 good CB's one an ex England international. 1 rapidly improving CB. 2 good full backs but better wing backs. Both internationals. 3 ex England CM players. 1 CM who is outperforming all 3 of them. The best Scottish midfielder by some distand and one of the form players in the PL. 1 Eire Cm player. 1 Norwegian AM. ! Uruguayan forward. Injured and been badly used. 1 temperamental African forward who's banned but good. 1 Norwegian international forward, very wayward. Yes we are now light up front. Thats due to the stupidity of signing Keane. Plus the lack of discipline being shown in the team. Thats a managerial problem too. Plus we have a player in the Ressies banging goals in for fun yet he doesnt make the bench. Why? Dont sign Man U's youth CM. Sign their ****ing RB or a RB cover from somewhere else in the past transfer window. Ye there must be loads of managers who would shy away from that...
Diomande reminds me of Bendy Mendy except that he runs hard through the middle, at least he gives defenders something to think about and is one of the few to add imputus & speed - Robbo is the other
Totally irrelevant point in response to the post. Am I right in thinking that you think that if there is only one up front, there is no other way of playing than the sterile way the team played last night?
Hughton's a good shout but I'm not sure he's that desperate. And it's only the truly desperate we can attract at this time. Thank god Ian Holloway's got a job.
