Don't hold back anyone will ya Ivve been on here two years and made 5 'friends". Chris and Gaf are two of them and Drogs is s bleedin' mockney #billynomates
You could try making a request yourself. I don't think I've ever turned one down but I don't make them myself. It's nothing personal, it's just that I don't bother with that side of things- no avatar (wtf's an avatar anyway?), no sig, no groups or blogs or any other wotsits, no big deal.
need a little handbags icon thingy like they do on the BBC live commentry, just to warn everyone to look out for the low flying toys being thrown
I've requested a lot and have 53 "mates" on here but that's to do with being a mod. When using the phone app, you can only PM "mates"
I think the biggest issue is not the cliqueness (afterall that's just the symptom of agood community and forum), but that it spills over in to proper footballing threads and full on derailment. A few OT threads are fine (and of course the pub) but I read and lurk (far more than I post) and I can see where gaf is coming from
Which forum are you going to join now?....better 606 new 606 elders606.You can also start your own forum. Goodbye anyway!
Basically this. If you don't want to go on the off topic stuff then you don't have to but when an on topic thread is full of hash tags and **** it can get a bit annoying.
I agree, footy threads should be generally On Topic there will be banter but it should not derail completely. Lately we have had a Post Match thread that has a no tolerance policy for wums and derailing and the Match Thread has been kept generally on topic so it is something we've tried adjusting to keep the footy focused people happy.
There is a new606. Our very own Jenners is on there. A lot of threads where users just speak to themselves, Luv would fit right in. #WhenisyourleavingthreadLuv #Annoyinghashtag
You're right, but again, it's understandable. In every other social environment a conversation will drift and you have to make a conscious effort to keep it on track if that's what you want. Sometimes we hardly realise it's happening, so it wouldn't hurt if someone who thinks the thread is straying too far points it out, then I think most would make an effort to get back on track.
i used to mod a board that had only users that talked about Liverpool, and i mean literally nothing else, it was both good and bad. ie you didn't have to read what some consider pointless threads, but then you would only talk like say a few times a week, mainly after the games, i tried a match thread once and was fecking talking to myself lol. not one for the off topic threads but it keeps the forum lively and keeps it going, even if it is bollocks most of the time
I come on here every day, (multiple times.) And I read, lurk and leave without posting as I cannot usually find much I am interested in posting on. Now I dont blame anyone for this, It is not other peoples responsibility to satisfy my need for good footballing discussion. If I want more threads on football subjects I like, I should probably post more football related threads. One thing that i have noticed, Which is disappointing is that even the match threads are losing considerable interest with less than half the posts we used to get. I dont know if this is a symptom of what others are talking about above, or people just being too busy. Im not going to apportion blame as i havenot been posting myself. Liverpool Everton in a couple of weeks, Hopefully there will be a good turn out for that and lots of football based discussion/banter
There soes have to be some off topic to keep a community active. There simply is not enough footballing news to keep discussion always football related.
I find this forum a distraction. I find myself putting my phone down during games so I can see the match. can't talk on behalf of others though. Most news stories are piles of ****. Some footballer assaulted someone in a nightclub or something was taken out of context for a nothing comment.
