The mods are very lenient and it's a good thing, imagine if they were strict like the JA mods, this place wouldn't be no way near as popular if they were. That's why I give them props.
He doesn't mean mods, he means me! There as been an issue there from well before I became a mod because I questioned the constant Man Utd threads that he used to do as BBF. He also doesn't like it when I talk normally to opposition fans rather than wumming. We seemed to get on a bit better for a while but I guess it was only a matter of time. Sorry Sisu: mentioning you directly but not slagging. You are much more liberal than me but it's fun engaging with the off topic debates sometimes and I don't take being told I'm talking bollox personally & didn't think you did either. It's only debate after all. There's only so many Gerrard or 3 at the back debates you can have. The match threads, transfer threads cover a lot of our discussion points each week with specific threads for major talking points. I dip into each when I feel like it. Haven't posted as much these days but no real reason for it. Pretty much enjoy all you ****wits and the different stuff on and off topic that you bring.
Yeh I know that mate. Thought I'd say Mods so it didn't seem like I was siding with you in particular, I don't want to take sides. I'll try and see it from both perspectives, I also said mods because because I remembered the bread we had before, you know - the 'spineless' one and just wanted to remind everyone of what a good job you mods do, and that they have to bare in mind that you guys do it for the good of the board.
Said this before, off topic threads divert most of the silliness spreading out of control on on topic threads.
Strictly speaking, a clique is a group of like-minded people that exists as an entity within a larger group. However, most people see an element of exclusivity in it and I don't think that exists here at all. All that's happened is a group of frequent users have got used to each other and talk in a way that they would in any other social environment, nobody who wants to join in with that is rejected. Everyone is brought together through the common interest of football, but that doesn't mean we have no interest in anything else. Other topics will be discussed (especially when there's a lull between games) and a level of banter develops which is normal with familiarity. As others have said, there are plenty of on-topic discussions and anyone who thinks there aren't enough is free to start more. Some football threads are just copy and paste from elsewhere, and whilst they might make interesting reading, there is often little to discuss on them. It's only natural that topics that divide opinion are going to be the most lively. Anyway gaf, if this isn't for you that's fair enough, so good luck finding something more suitable, mate.
