TBH and i don't really know why i feel this way, but... I don't want Sherwood to be our manager There is something about him. I feel he would take us down and sacked by Christmas and we will be back to square one.
This, exactly. On the surface there is no one else. But isn't this the criticism of TF from the start? He ONLY looks on the surface. Where are our insiders looking at the European leagues, the Championship or League One. No, it's TF so it has to be 'some one he's heard of'. He's the Redknapp of Chairman and I have lost a huge amount of patience with him.
Sherwood's thought process..... 'If Harry was on £3m and he was a mere mortal, I've gotta be worth a lot more, that's why asking for..... (furiously counting fingers)...£2m!'
Clement already ruled out leaving Madrid mid-season. However, tacitly he's implying that he could be available in the summer so could be worth holding off until then. Risky though to go through the rest of the sr season with caretaker gaffers.
Where indeed... Amazing that someone running a massive company can be so totally lacking in insight. Is he weak or stupid?
Got agree with you Ellers, ever since Ferdinand came in this has always been on he cards and it just doesn't feel right to me. Although he did ok in his short time at Spurs, it was his attitude at his interviews and arrogance that left a bad taste. If he comes in, he'll get my full support like anyone else but if these wage demands are even remotely close (the £1m a year TF will apparenty pay is too much for a manager in his first full-time position) then I'd much rather us go for a Robinson or Howe.
absolutely - no proven pedigree at any level (but automatically thinks he should be managing in the prem i suspect)
My god if he takes charge what will happen with you lot, stop supporting, start crying FFS get a grip, if he comes in so be it & put up with it, you never know could be just the bloke to turn it around, I'll back him we've all got to.
Have to question Tony's negotiating tactics. He puts out a short list of three potential managers (having never had a long list). One, McClaren, is dead in the water from the start (why would he leave an upsurging Derby unless it was for the money, which is not what we want?). The second, Clement, rules himself out and this was surely foreseeable if any informal enquiries from Loftus Road had been made. So that leaves Sherwood who, knowing he is now the only game in town and dealing with wealthy, desperate owners, puts in an astronomical remuneration claim. I don't like the sound of Sherwood and my instinct says he may bring division between the players. Could live with a short term contract until the end of the season to see how he does. But subject to this, TF needs to look farther afield to get a youthful and talented manager (of whatever nationality) over the summer so that we can start looking to a brighter future.
With Les Ferdinand designated to interview the prospective candidates what can possibly go wrong. No wonder Sherwood feels he can hold out for a £6,000,000 contract.
The only way we should pay high wages is for a six month contract (and even that should be balanced as bonuses). This is putting me off Sherwood (my only doubts were his motor mouth and how he views a long term project). If he's already demanding high Premiership wages and a big transfer kitty then he's possibly not the man for us. I hope TF has the strength to hold out as long as necessary to get the right man. I hope Les has the strength to say no to his mate if it's not the right decision. At the moment, I assume this to be the case. Time will tell.
I can't watch it yet because I'm in the office but I can only assume you have Rowan Atkinson round for tea on a semi-regular basis.
I disagree. We have dropped into the bottom three and lost most of our coaching staff since his appointment. Should never of been brought back just because he played for us.
stay with what we have, Madrid win La Liga and the champions league, Clement gets fed up with picking up trophies and needs a new challenge, jobs a good un
