Getting a striker in 'if' Ade gets injured, isn't much of a confidence booster for Bobby....or Booby as hiag is bound to refer to him! :D...we've spent ott dollar there, so casting him aside for half a first season that wasn't up to much is no good to anyone and even worse business. We have to do everything to get him back scoring, even if we're going to cut our losses in the summer.

I believe avb should have tried that after 10 games or so, switched JD to PL, and Bobby to the Cup games. RS's poor run was allowed to go on far too long.

I've been impressed with Tim's management up until the Hull game, where I think he can be partly blamed for not trying for a winner. Soldado was hopeless, he gave away passes and was again goal-shy. Lennon also had a terrible game and yet both played the full 90. People may not be fans of Chadli/ Sig but the way the game was shaping in the latter stages, it was clear to me we needed to switch it up a bit and both of those could have made an impact some way or another. Even Kane with more than 2 minutes may have done something, he did against Hull in the cup match.

Then there's also the Bentaleb situation, it's quite funny because earlier in the season I was calling for him to be given a chance in the cup games and was pleasantly surprised when he got his chance against Soton. Having said that, this whole trust in him as a starter over the past few weeks isn't working in my opinion. Capoue is a very good player and while Bentaleb definitely has the potential to be just as good possibly even better, as of right now, a better player is being made to make way for him. Give a youth a chance by all means, I'm a huge fan of it but there's the right time to do that and I think Tim is trying too hard in trying to impress by making out of the blue decisions which are at times, having a slightly negative impact to the team.

Overall a major improvement on AVB though, our football (with the first 20 mins of each game aside) has been better to watch for the most part and we're picking up results but there's a few tweaks I'd like to see from Tim.

About how I see it. I think Lennon may be slightly injured. He gets hurt every year, and I believe in the past he's tried to keep playing when it's minor. One thing we really ought to be doing is playing 11 healthy players when possible, which should be almost always. I think our two best CBs are Chiriches and Vertonghen. I also would like to see Bentaleb eased into a late sub role, as Dembele, Paulinho, Capoue and Sandro offer more if healthy.

But, yes, overall not bad for Sherwood, so far. Everton looks like a pivotal game for him. I think most of his problem is that many Spurs fans believe this team should be better than I think they really are. Compare it to the best of Harry's sides, for example, and we're weaker everywhere we aren't the same except for Lloris. You could argue Dembele/Capoue/Sandro is better than Parker, but I think the partnership between Parker and Modric was so good that's not really true.

Agree. The team Harry should have finished 3rd with was much better than our current team. But we have more depth now, so swings and roundabouts. Personally i prefer swings. Which team is swings i am yet to decide.

Arrys' best first XI was far better than the current one.
Arrys' best squad ?? Not so when it came to injuries.
Though poor management (Kranjcar etc) may have made it seem even worse.

How confident are fans that Sherwood will be here next year as I get the impression most won't care much if he went and we brought in Van Gaal.

I don't think that Levy will be looking too closely at Laudrup right now. Swansea are leaking sensitive club information like a sieve and I'm sure he'll know all about it.

I got the impression that was what was always going to happen as soon as Sherwood was announced. Remember when Pleat was holding the fort for half a season before we hired Santini?

You're probably right. Would explain the 18 month contract. Short enough for a cheap payoff but gives Sherwood hope that if he's a success he will be kept on.

Knowing Levy, the first six are set in stone but the next twelve are conditional - as in it gives Levy a reason to look for a new manager in the summer, and also serves as a basis for Sherwood to head back to the Academy.

I always saw Sherwood as a temporary solution until the summer. He'd never have got the job in the first place if Van Gaal or Hiddink or someone like that had been available. The only way he's going to be here next season is if we finish 4th (although knowing Levy even that might not be enough).
