I joined in on the "Bruce opens his big mouth" thread.. and got chased out of town for daring to question their confidence.. included gems such as "Why would be want Long when we have Borini and Altidore, who although doesn't score, holds the ball up ?" "Ki & Collback are as good as Johnson" et cetera..
Leave them to it. I'd love to see what their thread consists of if we do dare win against the mighty Sunderland.
I refute your scandalous generalisation and pronounce you a fop and a dandy. You can hardly blame sunderland fans from being more than a little optimistic. We're in a rich vein of form. All of our players, to a man, are playing well. We have home advantage coming off the back of another demolition derby win and, as fans, we're familiar with what the former sunderland players in hull's ranks are capable of as well as your manager. It's a home game against a team in a similar league position. We'd be idiots for NOT thinking we should be winning this game. Anyone who doesn't think there will be periods in the game where hull threaten sunderland's goal is being purposely belligerent. Of course hull have a chance but we're sunderland fans, damned if we're going to think anything other than a home win.
With double the Disdain & Derision. ^^^ I concur. On a train down from Nuckey Brown town last year. A mackem asks me "Am I getting off 4 Sunlan" Why the f***would I wan't 2 do that for. I said". Really.
We are confident because we have watched the development of a very good unit who all know the system and are playing well. We are keeping the ball making it had for teams to break us down and breaking quickly. For years we have watched very poor teams so we understand the difference between what we are seeing now and what we had before. On that basis we are allowed to be confident about a home game against a team who have never won here for many years. It is not arrogance simply a confidence based on our current form.
We all know you're confident. That's fair enough. We'd be bragging it up if we were in a similar position. You've a miles better side now. Fair play for revelling in it. All this anti Bruce stuff bores the hell out of us though. Don't listen to Calamity Jane. He/She/IT isn;t a city fan.
I'm not going to knock your partisan sentiments; after all, you need a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. But rich vein of form? I think you might have varicose veins, somewhat like your egos: enlarged and tortuous.
I presume you are including the cup games, because that is definitely bullshit if it refers to just the league.
I don't understand the vitriol towards Steve Bruce unless you feel like that about all your ex-managers , is it because he proved you wrong and got us promoted ?
No it's because he started well so got our hopes up but then he crashed and burned and that is hard to take. As they say it's the hope you can't take
As the manager who bought the players decided the tactics and gave half time team talks which resulted in disjointed second halfs, play players out of position and making substitutions which made no sense at all. Yes it was his fault, he lost the plot.
So you put no blame on the players who technically let him down by not playing to their full abilities? Or is the fact he is a Newcastle fan just a little incentive as to why some Mackems really dislike him?
The best manager we had played for Newcastle Stokoe is a god for winning the FA cup, so the fact he is a Newcastle fan has nothing to do with it. As far as players not playing, well that is why you employ a manager isnt it. If you can not get them to play for you you have failed as a manager.
